1958 Autocar/Edgar Rd Tank Wks, semi-cab conv., 750 Hale GL/500, no.39430, model C65S, chassis ser.no.46017, 176 in. wheelbase, 215 HP gas motor, 5-speed trans, the last Autocar in service in Lower Merion Twp.where they were built until 1954, this chassis built in Exton,PA, Autocar trucks were bolted together-no rivets were used in their construction, large plated diamond shape on front bumper center with lettered M in center, in 1984 sold to Bob Linke-Quakertown,in 1989 owned by John Crowell-Hancock,NH (aka Prospect FC)-repainted and relettered, in 1994 repurchased by Bob Linke (aka Cedar Grove FC)-Quakertown,PA, in 1995 sold to collector in NJ or NY, built by Boyer reg.no.MA 3784, pump no.46017, 3000 ft 2½ in.hose

1977 White Road Xpeditor COE/Pierce,canopy tilt-COE,job no.8997-C1000/500/120, designated foam unit, unusual transmission with unique sound-Sondstrom, around 1991 replaced with NTC 230 Cummings/Allison auto and new rear end for $25,000, around the pump foam unit, pre-piped deluge gun, lettered FOAM UNIT on cab canopy side, in 1996 offered for sale-asked $50,000, in 2-98 PAFM pg 174-asked $20,000 OBO, on 3-30-98 sold for $18,750 to dealer-Company Two Fire Apparatus-Snellville,GA who re-sold to Louisville (Jefferson Co.),GA-not happy with foam system-requested Company Two to take back and resell by 2000- housed 6-11-77, in 2005 in service in Gilmer County,GA as Eng.10-still lettered FOAM UNIT on cab canopy side



1981 Amer LaFr, Century series, canopy cab tractor, 100 ft tillered trailer aerial ladder, $190,000, speced to have an enclosed tiller cab however never built with it because it would not fit through fire station door, contribution toward purchase cost made by U.S. Ambassador Walter Annenberg-$50,000 challenge gift, housed 10-10-81, 6 KW diesel generator, 8V92 Detroit diesel, Allison auto trans, in 1996 offered for sale-asked $110,000, in April,1997 sold to Mt.Penn (Berks Co.),PA, delvd to Mt.Penn 5-28-97, Mt.Penn by 8-98 added cab over tillerman-retained ARDMORE lettering on bodyside behind trailer wheels, sold in 2010 for $8,000 to some private individuals from the Berks/Lehigh County area. Sold again in 08/2010 to John Urso, who is a lieutenant with the Blackwood Fire Company (Camden County, NJ). There are plans to repaint it New York Jets and New York Giants colors (not sure what the final product will look like) with the plan of the vehicle being driven up to the Meadowlands for home games.

I have a question about CF Macks, Why do they show CF-600 on the side, but they are CF-608 or some other number?

Can anyone help with what numbers were used over the years and what exactly these numbers represent.

I can't give you exact details, but They are CF-600 Series, they didn't make up castings for every individual typ within the series. I am not sure, but I think some of the variations in numbers had to do with the engine size used, and Gas or Desiel. I am sure a Mack afficanado will fill in better details.

795 - Gas V8, 325HP

You couldn't explained it any better. The CF series was the CF-600 series. If it had the V-8 enginge, it was a CF-700 though. The gas engine used was the 707 C Thermodyne. It was availableup to 1972. Then after that, the diesel was the only engine available.
