I remember this rig from growing up in Northeast PA. Apparently when purchased, their fire station had low clearance, so well before the addition of the Whelen strobe light bar, it was equipped with a four beam Federal beacon which was mounted on a bracket just below the roof line. If you look at the front of the cab, under the center clearance/marker light, you can still see where the bracket was attached to the cab roof. Always liked this rig. Thanks.

1980 White Expediator/Pierce, canopy cab, 1500/1500, top-mount, Detroit diesel, automatic, 3 KW Onan diesel generator. It was housed on 7/18/81 at a cost of $140,999. This was the first canopy cab and top-mount ordered by the company. Pierce bought the chassis from Hamerly when bankruptcy occurred. For sale 11/08 on E-Bay. Sold to the Hazelegreen Fire Protection District – Richland (Pulaski County, MO) in 12/08.

1968 Ford C-1000/Amerind and MacKissic, high side-cabinet style tanker body, $19,888, 425/2000, manufacturer named MacKissic of Parkers Ford,PA was approached and agreed to build this truck-he previously manufactured explosive carrier vehicles for the government-this was the only tanker he ever built, he had passion for the American Indian thus the contraction Amerind and MacKissic, accepted 6-23-69, 534 ci V-8 265 HP gas motor, Hale pto pump, Spicer 6352 manual trans, in 1983 rehabed by 4-Guys, seen 9-16-95 GW, seen 9-6-97 with heavy rust along entire lower body sides, std.tilt-COE, in 1992 rehabed by East Penn-fiberglass tank, in 1996-7 involved in collision with Perkiomen Twp.tanker-sent to East Penn-Pottsville,PA for new tank and rebuild, in early 2004 fuel line and carburetor problems worsened-34 year old gas motor failing-extensive rust-parts hard to find, 153 in.WB, by 3-05 taken oos-tanker no longer required-space needed in station, on 3-24-05 sold on E-Bay no.4536524613-by waldman to surplus barn for $1500-left 4-22-05-purchased by career fire fighter drove it to Orlando,FL with intent to use in business being developed to rent out for parades-events,etc, in 2-06 offered on E-Bay no.4615248920 by code3promotions who did not have time to continue developing business-on 3-2-06 sold for $2651 to 3481fred-for Providence and Mt.Pisgah VFC-Georgiana (Butler Co.),AL for first line fire service use
