The current Rescue 1 which is a 2002 Spartan has been O.o.S. for quite sometime now because it apparently caught on fire on I-83 the way back from a shop in PA and then had to be sent to a body shop. The old '93 E\-One Hurricane Reserve Squad has been running as Rescue 1 for almost a year now it seems. Also when the new rescue comes in, what will happen with the current fleet of rescues? Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 12-17-2007 The old Rivera Beach Rescue is now sitting at the academy. Baltimore hasn't used it in sometime. Rumor is new Rescue 1 will be built by Pierce and look something like FDNY Rescue 1 who knows. Im sure they will keep the E\-One as a Reserve since that all Baltimore has. When the E\-One goes down they end up using the Reserve Squad Engine. If that goes down they end up running a reserve engine Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 12-18-2007 [quote name='gravenut74' post='172207' date='Dec 17 2007, 21:46 ']The old Rivera Beach Rescue is now sitting at the academy. Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 12-18-2007 I know when the E\-One goes down and the Rescue Engine its slim pickens. That why I'm sure they will keep it. Funny is they did not like the E\-One. They complained about it. Now they are holding onto it like crazy. Karma. The Spartan-Rescue 1, was last seen out west somewhere at a truck stop. Where-abouts unknown. Baltimore City Fire Department - wardengine - 12-18-2007 i thought the newest rescue was a Pierce Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 12-18-2007 The current rescue that is m.i.a. is a Spartan Gladiator-Rescue 1. Baltimore City Fire Department - wardengine - 12-18-2007 what problems are they having with it??? Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 12-19-2007 Apparently no one can confirm, but rumor has it that it caught on fire heading to a repair facility. It was last seen somewhere out west at a truck repair shop. I know Rescue-1/PL-Custom is in Jersey. Is Spartan Motors out west? Who knows it has been gone from Baltimore at least 8 or 9 months if not longer Baltimore City Fire Department - hp1530 - 12-20-2007 [quote name='gravenut74' post='172524' date='Dec 19 2007, 17:11 ']Apparently no one can confirm, but rumor has it that it caught on fire heading to a repair facility. Also the since the E-1 is smaller than the Rescue1, does that mean they aren't able to carry all the extra tools while they are using the reserve? Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 12-20-2007 As far as I know they carry their full compliment of equipment. The last we heard down here was that it was not coming back. It is very tight lip for some reason. You ask around and no one knows anything. Rumors on a new Pierce rescue is the latest. It was like the two Pierce rearmounts there was very little said until they showed up.
