Within the past two years, the Bethesda FD became part of the Durham County FD which was then absorbed into the City of Durham FD. This apparatus now responds as Haz-Mat 16 in the City of Durham, NC.

Like nearby Bethesda FD, the Parkwood FD also became part of the Durham County FD and subsequently absorbed into the City of Durham FD, where it currently runs as Tanker 18.
