Also at Dulles Airport was this unique 1961 American LaFrance that ran as Red 335. It originally was an engine that had the Telesqurt added around 1980, when it was rehabed by American LaFrance. I believe it was wrecked in 1986. 1500/500 with a 55' TS.

This photo taken in 1981.

Another Dulles unit was Red 334, a 1973 Dodge/Fire-X. 100 gallons of AFFF and 400 lbs of Purple K.

Another ALF from Dulles Airport, this one for Red 336. The information on the slide says it is a 1961 American LaFrance with a 1500 gpm pump. Since the photograph was taken the same month and year (8/81) as the American LaFrance telesqurt, I can rule this one out as being the ALF rehabed later into a Telesqurt unit.

I don't have much information on Red 375 from Washington National Airport. Two years are listed - 1959 and 1962. However, there is a serial number of 838662 listed. Does anyone have s/n information on older ALF's?

This photograph also taken in 1981.

The last one from the airports is a bit unusual. Red 329 from Washington National Airport is a 1967 Ford C/Howe 750/750. It carried squad equipment, was a light unit, mass casualty, and disaster unit.

It was received in 1981 from NASA's Wallop's Island Virginia facility near Chincoteaque, VA.

This is one I have been trying to find a photograph of for a number of years.

Winchester once had the Sara Zane fire company which closed a number of years ago. I believe the last fire truck they purchased was this 1981 Mack MC611F12 with serial number 1053. 1250/500.

When Sara Zane closed, the Mack was sold to the Greenwood, VA VFD, located just outside of Winchester and re-painted yellow and white. The Mack is now running as a Berkeley County, West Virginia county reserve engine. I photographed it at South Berkeley's Inwood, Virginia sub-station several years ago.

Also at Sara Zane was this 1947 Buffalo with a 500 gpm pump and serial number A-2550.

It was eventually sold to the Mathias-Baker, West Virginia VFD. It may have ended up at Wardensville, West Virginia at one point.

This photograph was taken in 1966.

I believe that this may have been the first ladder truck at Warrenton. Truck 1 is a 1952 ALF 85' that Warrenton purchased from Bristol, Virginia.

No information about this International squad that ran as Squad 6 for the Warrenton Volunteer Rescue Squad. Photographed in 1986.

The Warrenton VFD and Rescue Squad merged within the last several years.

Upperville, Virginia in Fauquier County still owns this 1970 Ford F/Oren with a front mount 750gpm pump and a 1000 gallon water tank. It carries Oren serial number 2811.

The Chief at Upperville recently asked for some photographs of this truck - they would like to restore the truck to its original condition.

These next three are from West Point, Virginia.

Engine 5 is a 1959 Ford F750/Oren 500/900 with serial number 500B-1658. I believe West Point still owns this truck.

Note the "Donated by The Chesapeake Corp of Virginia" proudly displayed on the door.
