How about some senic shots? - Guest - 05-05-2009 Great Island Trail, Wellfleet, MA How about some senic shots? - KDWMAEMT - 05-06-2009 Now that Im near done processing the 1500+ photos I took on my recent vacation to Arizona, Ill share a few here. The Grand Canyon as seen from the viewing platform at Desert View on the South Rim drive. Seeing the Canyon in person is a must see. Pictures DO NOT do it justice. How about some senic shots? - KDWMAEMT - 05-06-2009 Another shot of the Canyon a little later in the day. This time from Moran Point. My 2 brothers and I climbed down the side of the Canyon and out to a rock formation that was only accesible by doing so. VERY dangerous, but totally worth it. Deadly drops all around but a great thrill nonetheless. These are some of the best places and a limited number of spots to actually see the Colorado River at the base of the Canyon. How about some senic shots? - KDWMAEMT - 05-06-2009 A shot of the ABSOLUTE VASTNESS of the Canyon. It seems to go on forever. How about some senic shots? - KDWMAEMT - 05-06-2009 The next morning, we went down from Flagstaff to Sedona...one of the most beautiful and photogenic places in the country. We sent the women shopping and the guys went hiking to a place called Chicken Point. This is a shot of Sedona from half way up the hike. How about some senic shots? - KDWMAEMT - 05-06-2009 Now at Chicken Point, the view was amazing. Well worth the time invested in hiking with camera gear on. How about some senic shots? - KDWMAEMT - 05-06-2009 Dont know why, just like the shot of this bridge on Route 89 outside Sedona near Oak Creek. Its at least a few hundred feet to the riverbed from here. How about some senic shots? - KDWMAEMT - 05-06-2009 Though we werent supposed to (trail closed for some reason) we ignored the signs and hiked down to this spot along Oak Creek, a few miles up the road from the bridge in the previous post. This is my younger brother Ryan and I, just showing the size and scope of where we were. Its probably a 50-60 foot drop to the river below from where we were standing. How about some senic shots? - KDWMAEMT - 05-06-2009 And of course, we climbed down the rock facade to the riverbed. This is right under where we were standing in the previous post. How about some senic shots? - KDWMAEMT - 05-06-2009 Last one is a shot down Oak Creek, from the other side of the river. My older brother and I crossed the river by carefully walking across the rocks sticking up out of the river. Problem was, they were at such an angle, that we found it was a 1 way trip that way. We ended up walking a few hundred feet up river, taking our shoes and socks off, and barefooting it wading through the FREEZING cold water back to the other side. Guess we are an adventurous bunch. Hope you like the pics. It was an unforgettable trip for sure. Any comments, good or bad are welcome.
