Thanks for the shots from home. PHOTOS BY EMS 12 (PAT SHOOP) - Guest - 06-03-2009 Anyone else remember when Glen Campbell and its vfc was featured in TV Guide? It was about 1970 when Glen Campbell the singer had a TV variety show, and the magazine found out about the very small town in PA that had the same name, but he's not actually from there. IIRC, it was a 2 page spread with a photo of the old wooden firehouse, some vfc members, and their c.1960 Ford F/Darley, which they still had as late as 1996. Good work, guys! I kinda remember a couple of those stations back in 96-97, they sure have changed rigs. PHOTOS BY EMS 12 (PAT SHOOP) - Guest - 06-07-2009 Any Idea why Glen Campbell got rid of the FDNY Mack? PHOTOS BY EMS 12 (PAT SHOOP) - truck1882 - 06-08-2009
Any Idea why Glen Campbell got rid of the FDNY Mack?
The Glen Campbell Mack was sitting outside their station and had reportedly been run off the road into a slight embankment. The bumper was bent up slightly, and it appeared there was damamge to the front axle, wheel assemblies. We where told they paid $300 for the IH engine, where as I would bet the Mack would take a couple thousand to repair.
