Most likely the only true fire tanker National Foam built. 1960 International B-series/National Foam, full cab, 750/1500, tandem axle pumper-tanker. It was destroyed in a accident in 1985 while enroute to a local parade when it went down a hill and lost its brakes and crashed. It was left outside for awhile, but is was finally sold to a local scrap yard and cut up. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 05-29-2010 Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company (Chester County) 36-9 Photographer unknown Keystone State Relics - Guest - 05-30-2010
Engine 69 in Lower Burrell was a 1970 Mack CF 1000/750. John Schmidt photo. It looks newer than from 1970, maybe a major rehab ?
It was a 1970 CF, with a major rehab in 1988 by 4-Guys Fire Keystone State Relics - Guest - 06-06-2010
It was both Vandergrift Foxes, Highland Hose from Tarentum, and Apollo #2's We have a few photos of it... I will get it scanned and get it into here.
Is there a chance i could get a hi-resolution scan of a few of them pictures. I got a copy of the one from New Ken 2 and the one off of this website and were comparing them, and they look like the exact same picture. But the big issue is that both pictures have different truck and company names written underneath them. The one on this site says, Tarentum, Apollo, Vandergrift #1, Vandergrift #2, and Tarentum. The one at No. 2 goes Turtle Creek, Apollo, Vandergrift (George McMurty), Vandergrift Heights, and Parnassus. The reason i am asking is that i am trying to do a history project from the tri-city area, so i am trying to get it right. Thanks!!!!! Keystone State Relics - Guest - 06-06-2010 Great shots of Engines 13 & 4. All city engines during that time were purchased "open cab". The drivers of Engine 13 has a special fund in house. They paid the extra money for the closed cab, making it the first one in Reading. Engine 4's rig would be the last for the company as they were disbanded in 1969. The number 4 would remain as a reserve number until the late 70's when the last reserve engine 4 was placed out of service. The number has not been used since. Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 Reading Tractor 1935 Mack 75 BX #1028 Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 Reading 1947 Mack E 75 S #2332 Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 Alburtis PA Lehigh County 1947 Mack E 75 S #2320 Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 Alburtis PA Lehigh County 1947 Mack E 75 S #2320 Demonstration Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 PA Bangor Northampton County 1938 Mack 75EH #1021 Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 PA Bangor Northampton County 1938 Mack 75EH #1021 Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 PA Waynesboro Franklin County 1950 Mack E 75 S #2393 Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 PA Waynesboro Franklin County 1948 Mack E 75 S #2343 Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 I have a few shots of a city service truck from Willow Grove 1947 Mack E 75 S #2813 Montgomery County Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 06-09-2010 Willow Grove 1947 Mack E 75 S #2813 shows Mack E grill |
