F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 02-20-2007 I'm going out on a limb here but is the problem with the rig that compartment 7 doesn't have a logo or picture on it signifying what the use of the equipment inside is? 1-6 and 8 do have those logos... F.D.N.Y. - anesti - 02-20-2007
I'm going out on a limb here but is the problem with the rig that compartment 7 doesn't have a logo or picture on it signifying what the use of the equipment inside is? 1-6 and 8 do have those logos...
well jfong answered it as this was purley me trying to be funny but ladder 12 is a tower and there now running a reserve rearmount F.D.N.Y. - e290l103 - 02-20-2007 it is a spare rearmount. There are 10 Reserve Trucks. Reserves are fully loaded, ready to go. This one is not one of them. This rig is a spare, one of 2 1996 RM's and is Ex-L47. Mike F.D.N.Y. - R1SmokeEater - 02-20-2007 And I guess the spare Tower Ladder saga continues.............. F.D.N.Y. - Frank B - 02-20-2007 Is there any chance one of you FDNY photographers can take shots of the Aerials Compartments, I am interested in what and where they store there equipment, for a future Aerial order. If any one has a chance to do this, Thanks. F.D.N.Y. - Marc - 02-20-2007 Frank, the truck in my house is currently using a '91 Seagrave spare. The compartmentation is slightly different than on their regularly assigned '02 Seagrave which has been in the shops since December. When they get their regular rig back, i'll shoot the compartments for ya. I believe the only standards on the books are for the soc support rigs they actually have a book on where all their stuff goes. F.D.N.Y. - CFD Adv207 - 02-20-2007 So the possibility exists to have a different equipment set up on each truck? F.D.N.Y. - firepost - 02-20-2007
lets play a game What is wrong with ladder 12?
Where are the spare Tower Ladders? It's hard to believe that the spare Tower Ladders are all being used. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tower.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> F.D.N.Y. - hp1530 - 02-20-2007 At the time of printing for Guide to NYC Fire Apparatus FDNY had 6 Mack spare Aerialscopes, 6 FWD spare Aerialscopes and 2 Mack 95' scope spares. F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 02-20-2007 Interesting photo if this is a spare rig then how come Ladder 12 has permanent numbers on doors, usually we have magnetic placards with company number they are smaller than regular numbers. Maybe Ladder 12 has changed to rearmount for good? F.D.N.Y. - e290l103 - 02-21-2007 Some companies have large size magnetics with the standard size numbers. from a distance, they look like permanent numbers, especially with a coating of salt on the rig. gotta get up to Thornwood one of these days! Each company has their rig set up as what works for them. Also where each position sits on the rig could be different as well. Except the chauffeur and officer they always ride in the front <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> F.D.N.Y. - CFD Adv207 - 02-21-2007
That is correct.
