Okay! I'm in Tampa! Bradenton first thing in the morning to inspect our new tanker. I'll be sure to post more than just our truck.

Just over a year ago, Vancouver/Whistler was host to the 2010 Winter Olympics. I thought I would post a few photos of some of Whistler's former trucks as well as some of their older trucks that are still in service. Whistler E 31 was this 1981 Anderson built 4x4 pumper with 840/800 spec.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 02-26-2011

At one time, Whistler ran this 1981 Anderson Dodge Power Ram 4x4 with 250/150 as R 31.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 02-26-2011

Whistler E-33 once operated this 1978 Anderson International S 4x4 with an 840 front mount pump and 1000 gallon water tank.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 02-26-2011

The ladder in Whistler at one time was another Anderson built apparatus, and was built using a 1982 International S chassis with a 1050 pump, 300 gallon water tank and 55' LTI FIRESTIX aerial.

This engine was recently sold to another fire department in Northern B.C. but started life in Whistler as Engine 2, and is an Anderson Engineering built Spartan Silent Knight with 1500/700/50F specs. and enclosed Transverse pump panel.

Another apparatus that was recently traded in for a Smeal Spartan 75' 4x4 ladder was this 1990 Emergency One Hurricane 95' ladder tower with 1050 pump and 150 gallon water tank.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 02-26-2011

Engine 33 and Rescue 1 in Whistler were both built by Anderson Engineering on the last two Spartan GT-1 chassis built. Engine 33 is a 1997 GT-1 with 1250 rear mounted pump and 750 gallon water tank.

Whistler Rescue 1 is this Anderson Spartan GT-1 4x4 Rescue. I am happy to say that this rescue ended up with a new coat of RED paint a few years ago!

Any chance of telling us what fire trucks that Syncrude have please as I see they have truck in production at Ferrara at the

Moment which is a Industrial 85FT master stream ....

Thanks

I have not been up to Syncrude at Fort McMurray since 2001. I am pretty sure that they have replaced most of the rigs I saw at that time with the exception of 2 E-1 8x8 crash/fire/rescue trucks. Only 1 had been delivered at the time of our visit and it had a snozzle. I believe, at least, they have added a large capacity E-1 industrial pumper and are awaiting delivery of the Ferrara/Schwing that you mentioned.

The city of West Vancouver also hosted some Olympic events on Cypress Mountain, including some snow board events. Some of West Vancouver's earlier apparatus included this 1980 Pierreville Scot engine, which had a 1500 pump and 500 gallons of water.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 03-12-2011

West Vancouver used to operate this 1978 Thibault Scot 100' aerial which also had a 625gpm pump and 150 gallon water tank.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 03-12-2011

In 1987 West Vancouver placed this Anderson Engineering built Mack MC engine with a 1250 pump and 300 gallon water tank.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 03-12-2011

Shop # 40in West Vancouver was this 1987 Anderson Engineering Freightliner FLL heavy rescue.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 03-12-2011

Anderson supplied West Vancouver with this 1990 engine, built on a Simon Duplex D 500 chassis with 1500'300 specs.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 03-12-2011

Another Mack chassied engine made it on the West Vancouver roster in 1995. Shop # 31 is an Anderson Mack MR with 1500/300 specs.
