Los Angeles County Fire Dept - Guest - 10-28-2009
Gotta real quick question. I was on the local KME dealers websites here in Maryland and they had a picture of a new KME for LA County. They showed pictures of the engine and on the drivers side there were four pedals on the floor. What are they for? Obviously one is for acceleration and the other is for braking. The pictures in question can be viewed at antietam fire apparatus web site. Thanks

You are seeing the reflection of the two pedals in the metal against the engine housing or whatever that part is called. That's why it looks like 4 pedals, but just two <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Someone had asked abt the capacity of this unit. Found out it has 2 tanks equalling 1000 gals. One tank is 600 & the other is 400 and strictly carries only diesel fuel. Hope that helps.

Patrol 86 in there "new" patrol. For those keeping tabs this unit was previously was assigned as Patrol 97 and upon delivery on 97's new Patrol this unit was bumped down to Station 86 to replace there dinosaur of a patrol.

Squad 32 in there brand new squad in service less than a week. They were orginally suppose to of gotten one of the new dodge squads but a last minute change saw them getting a Ford.
