Who decided it was a good idea to go to the DESERT in the SUMMER, I don't know. I did however take the chance to snap a few photos in between work. I learned the desert is a harsh, but beautiful scenery. I also threw in a "Faces" picture of me getting ready for the day. That's my Alias, Joe E.O.D.irt. Quote:The heat is bearing down on my wide brimmed hat with what seems like more effort than usual. The gravel beneath my feet is scorching, and dry as a bone. The cliffs and hills are deep reds, and warm tans. The sky a rich, deep blue. The sweat on my skin forms little beads, glistens in the sun. I've never sat and taken in the scenes, and sights of a desert in such perfect solitude. It's harsh, brutal. The desert will take from you, and never give you anything. The area around me seems to be void and lifeless. Yet I see quail, lizards, and bugs who survive in perfect harmony with their world. I long to be in such perfect harmony. My skies dark and blue, my hills rich with color. To quinch my thirst, and satisfy my need for happiness. For now though, I'll just lean back and be part of this desert. Hard to beat the sunrises and sunsets out west. Recently had a opportunity to go back to New Mexico for some DHS classes through the fire dept. Makes me miss traveling on Uncle's dime, although I do not think I would want to partake in desert training in the middle of the summer. I was just messing around, saw what I knew was gonna be an approaching thunderstorm in teh distance and said "what the hell" and snapped it. The funny thing is I was listening to Pink Floyd's "Animals" album at the time, and if you look at the cloud formation, it looks like a pig! photo by me.
