Rheems, any pictures of the rest of the super pumper system. The hose wagon was a very neat looking truck.

FF556 Thank you for the kind words... I am glad you are enjoying the pictures.. I will have more to post here over the course of the day (I am at work and it is totally against the company rules to surf the web.... so that is the perfect time to post pictures!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' /> )

Jesse, I don't have any pictures of the rest of the system.. but I am now itching to go out and find it and photograph it. From what the guy I was watching the parade with said, the only place they can get enough flow is out of Lake Hopatcong or the Jersey City Reservoir in Parsippany.

The Rheems1 Photo Collection - engine216 - 09-11-2007

Wow!!! I would imagine that would quickly drain a lot of ponds and lakes we have around here.

The Rheems1 Photo Collection - Rheems1 - 09-11-2007

It definitly would... the Susquehanna would probably the only place that you could get enough flow around here... I can't recall what the output on the pump is.. but it is astronomical!!

Thanks for sharing your great pics from the Boonton Parade with an ol' Jersey boy. Looks like you had a beautiful day for shooting. I miss those fire department parades. We don't have anything like that in Florida other than the occasional local holiday or fire prevention parade. Nowhere near the number and variety of rigs though. FLJack.

[quote name='Rheems1' post='147378' date='Sep 9 2007, 22:47 ']Here was the piece of the day though... this is part of some Super Pumper like system... this piece is the Hose Wagon.. it carries 6,000 feet of 12 inch hose. Housed at Chatam Township is the Super Pump that goes with this piece and at Morris Township is the Super Deluge Gun piece that goes with this. I don't have much information on this thing other than what I have posted. I wish someone could fill in more information on this thing/system!

According to their website:

This hose tender is part of the Urban Area Security Initiative, and is used jointly with 6 other northern New Jersey counties to be prepared to deal with major regional events. It's part of a regional effort to deal with major catastrophes or terrorist attacks in a six-county region, comprising Morris, Union, Essex, Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties. It is one component of a task force that can pump out 5,000 to 8,000 gallons of water a minute or provide 3,500 gallons of foam in an instant.

Delivered by the federal Department of Homeland Security, the equipment arrived in May 2005, and Schooley's Mountain firefighters are proud to be an integral part of regional security efforts. It carries 2000 feet of 12" flexible pipeline.

2,000 feet!! Hmm... something is wrong with that!! Either I got an idiot who didn't know his rig (which is very possible) or they posted the wrong information. I guess I am going to go with "the guy didn't know his rig" because the alternative is not likely. BTW Jon, it is good see you over here... I will start making up the "Sly Has Arrived" banners. LOL

Rheems, this is not a Spartan/Marion pumper. It is a Spartan/RD Murray pumper. If you look under the window between the driver's door and Driver Side crew door you"ll notice the rectangular name plaque. That was the usual location where we put those. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fireman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Fireman' />

You are 100% correct Roger, I went through my notes and found where I mislabeled this piece and another. It is indeed an RD Murray!! Thank you for pointing that out!!
