It is Cherry! What a nice job refirbing and preserving this truck. Note that the color is a metalic off red, Larry do you know what the color name is? It is nice to see a Department making an effort to preserve an older piece of equipment! By the way, the Doylestown Hahn was a Demo! Hahn...post them if you got them. - Guest - 12-05-2006 <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />-->QUOTE(Frank B @ Dec 5 2006, 05:45 ) [post="56374"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]<div class='quotemain'><!--quotec--> Chews Landing Saulsbury Rescue, Hahn Chassis Rescue 822
This rig is now a spare for CAMDEN NJ SQUAD 7. Hahn...post them if you got them. - Guest - 12-05-2006 Mr. Frank Boyd, is the late Bill Schwartz's collection now in the hands of Dick Adelman? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> (I thought it was supposed to go to the SPAAMFAA archives). Since Bill has regrettably been deceased for a couple of years, did you seek Mr. Adelman's permission, or do you have access to the hereafter? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I would like to point out that several past and present acquaintances photo work seems to be represented in this collection. I.E., I am quite sure that the Smock,PA., Hahn photo was taken by David Bowen, as I was there beside him in that baseball field in July,2001. I also see the work of Scott Mattson and John Floyd in several other photos. Resqguy, you have eagle eyes! I did not notice this back in '01 and can only speculate that a different grille was installed during the mechanical work performed prior to going in service in Smock. You might be aware that this rig was a "problem child" while with MAVFD. Warren Jenkins Thurmont,Md. Terry
Thanks for the update on the tilt cabs from Hahn. The Hahn spokesman made it sound like we, Malverne, were getting a one of a kind cab. Thanks to this site I see we were among a unique GROUP of owners. It still was a great rig, I was sorry to see it go, but the village didn't like the fact that Hahn was no more. I think there may be 1 or two left, the fleet is almost all Pierce now. I'm sure gemurph would if he still posted here. |
