Chicago Fire Department - Droopydogg - 07-04-2006 Here are a few I took at the 2002+03 CFD muster. Hope you enjoy Old and new Academy trucks Old academy bus Tower 10 Eng. 8 (Chinatown) Old Eng. 18 C model Mack Dive Team Van Eng. 87 B model Mack Eng. 91 Water Tower More to come soon Chicago Fire Department - Guest - 07-04-2006 Awsome photos <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I love the Mack C and the Water Tower. Chicago Fire Department - Guest - 07-04-2006 The front bumper of the engine's carries 150 feet of 5 inch. Hydrants in Chicago are 300 feet, so in theory the engine is never more the 150 from a hydrant. Chicago Fire Department - bigjim - 07-05-2006 I thought the LDH was four inch, not fivve inch. Anyone know for sure? Thanks. Chicago Fire Department - Jamie - 07-05-2006 Yes, that is correct; Chicago uses 4-inch LDH. Chicago Fire Department - Guest - 07-06-2006 I have this backward printed print in my collection, labeled 1974 Hendrickson/Morita 135'. Can anyone pass on some information about it? was another apparatus builder involved? Chicago Fire Department - edburke - 07-06-2006 Figured I'd flip it for ya. I believe Pierce had some involvement as well, as it looks like their name plate on the front. Maybe Steve or Bill could fill in further......... Chicago Fire Department - firepost - 07-06-2006
TRUCK 1 1974 Hendrickson/Pierce/Morita 135'RM CFD Shops ID # E-197 My notes say it was ex Truck 2, went to Truck 1 in 1974, then into reserve in 1980. Maybe Steve or Bill could fill in further......... The Hendrickson was originally number for Truck 2 but was never used as Truck 2 as there wasn't enough Clearance for the Vehicle in Truck 2's old station.Truck 2 had been using a 1960 Mack Magirus 144 foot Aerial Ladder at the time and it was the intention of the CFD to replace the 1960 Mack Magirus "High Ladder" with the Hendrickson Pierce "High Ladder". It ended gong int service at Truck 1's house and Truck 1's American Lafrance 100 foot Rearmounted Aerial Ladder Truck was reassigned to Truck 2 instead.
Firepost.
