This pump opened the doors at the newly created Fire District 2 in January 1947 at the little fire house at 63rd and Mission Road. Fire District 2 was fully career from opening day in January of 1947. JC Nichols creator of the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City engineered Prairie Village as a starter community for soliders after WWII. It has become a very nice community. The Fire District was started due to state laws passing. The Mack shared quarters with a 1947 Chevy Central pump. This would be the start of five addtional pumps being purchased over the next thirty years 1C, 4CF's.

Delivered in and placed in service in the fall of 1970 as an open cab. The membership had a 1949 Mack L-95 full open cab and liked the open cab. The committee traveled to Ford City and liked their open cab. Still in service, answered a vehicle fire yesterday 7:50 AM, 4 degrees above and a very cold ride, would have it no other way. Serial #: CF 685 F10 1166.

Northhampton was a township in northwest Summit County, Ohio. They bordered the city of Cuyahoga Falls. Back in the 80's the twp and city passed a resolution desolving the twp into the city. I believe the VFD station is CFFD #5 now, they kept and my still be running some of the rigs.

There were a total of 13 CF's made with an open cab. 12 engines and 1 mid-mount aerial ladder truck that went to Riverdale MD. New Kensington had the ninth open cab engine made. Delivered in October of 1970. Serial # CF 685 F(10) 1166. It was refurbished by New Lexington in 1991. The fire body from the pump panel back was replaced, as well as the booster tank. It was New Lexington's first refurb, not a good job. Connellsville, Fayette County PA had the last open cab that Mack built. It was a 1974. They had a total of 3 open cab Mack's, a 1969, a 1972 and the 1974. It is the only open cab Mack still in front line service as far as I know.
