Thanks for posting the picture Mike, that's her! With all the buffs up in the Philly and South Jersey area, I've yet to see a photo of it in Cherry Hill livery, which is why I posted here looking for info as to where it went, as I am not 100% convinced it is actually in service at CHFD. Anyone out there know for sure or better yet, have a photo? Thanks in advance!

Cherry Hill 100% has the foam unit in service. Foam 13 has been reoutfitted with some additional equipment as well as a Williams Powderkeg Purple K system. No pictures on firepics because it is only partially lettered & striped. I will see about up to date pics. The unit is housed at Station 6 (Squad 13, Hazmat 13,Foam 13 & BLS 1396)

Thanks for the update Rev! If it's still partially lettered/striped (though if they've had it for over a year now, wonder what's taking so long), that's why I haven't seen any pics.

The Department is in the middle of completing major renovations to three stations. Also the 1-engine, 2-squrts and 1-rear mount were all put in service last year with a new stiping package. Just hasnt been the priority to strip the Foam unit yet.

I had to run down to Camden County to meet with a client today and actually stopped by CHFD Station 6 (brand new and just occupied 10 days ago). The foam unit was there and in service, but the only lettering on it was a small CHFD maltese cross on the cab doors. Makes sense as to why it hasn't gotten any additional lettering/striping, but CHFD's policy on no apparatus photography doesn't. The station lieutenant was very friendly, he tried on my behalf, but the big boss wouldn't allow it, due to 'homeland security' concerns, I was told I'd have to fill out a request letter and it would be decided at a later date if I could photograph it. Oh well, if it's going to get the new graphics on it at some point, I'll just wait until that happens and hopefully I'll be able to post the results here.

Yes thats the policy on photography. You can thank a bunch of Buffs who don't know how to act for that policy. Too many guys posting/listing bad info and being to pushy when their was a open door policy. Guys thinking there photos were more important than the fact that it was a working fire station. Only takes one, remember.

Yep, unfortunately it does, I found out the hard way!

Nate asked me to post some of the apparatus that once ran at Clifton, Fire Station 16 in Fairfax County. As with a number of departments in Fairfax, Station 16 began as volunteers (1942) and turned over their operations to the county (approximately 1969).

A 1957 Chevrolet/American 500/750.

This neat 1960 Dodge Power Wagon was equipped with a 250/210.

It was later turned over to the county, repainted to the county colors of red and white, and later transferred to Fire Station 32 (Fairview).

Clifton also operated this 1965 Ford C/Young 750/500. Young was a popular builder for a variety of Fairfax County stations.

As with the 1960 Dodge Power Wagon brush truck, this Ford was later repainted and marked to Fairfax County. It was eventually sold to the Dominican Republic with a group of Fairfax County apparatus.

Fairfax County purchased five 1973 Imperial engines equipped as 1000/500. Eventually, all 5 were rehabed by E\-One. These rehabs began a very long relationship with E\-One.

Wagon 16 in Clifton had one of the 1973 Imperials assigned there.

I photographed this engine in front of the Clifton House, across the street from the station.

Engine 20 in Gunston originally had this 1982 Duplex/3D Metals and it was painted red and white.

In the late 1980's, Fairfax County tested a new color scheme of German orange and white. There were just a few fire trucks painted in this color during the test. One was a new 1989 E\-One Hush pumper assigned to Station 26. The other was when the 1982 Duplex/3D Metals engine from Station 20 in Gunston was rehabed by Fire Fox in 1989 and returned painted orange and white. After the rehab, it was assigned to Engine 16 in Clifton. Since it was equipped as a 1000/1000, the additional water was needed in Clifton where there are non-hydrant areas.

One other fire department vehicle painted to orange and white was a small admin vehicle. The test of orange and white never went further. Feedback, as I understand, was quite negative.

1986 was a big apparatus year for Fairfax County. The county purchased 13 engines, ladders, squad, tankers, and light/air units from E\-One. That was just the county purchased apparatus. Some of the volunteer companies also purchased E\-One's.

Two tankers were purchased.

Tanker 16 once ran a 1986 KenWorth L700/E-One 1250/2500 with serial number 4767. It was received from Tanker 32.

Last one from Clifton...

One of the five 1986 E\-One Hurricane engines - 1250/500.

Clifton often ended up with "hand me down" apparatus since their call volume was not as much as other departments. They received this E\-One from Engine 35 in Pohick.

E\-One serial number 4797.

Photographed in 1998.

E16's Duplex/3D was assigned to the Fire and Rescue Academy (the Academy is referred to as Station 7 numerically) after it left 16; about 1995-97 along with it's sister from the same order, V-7098, old Engine 34.

A visit to Fairfax Co. Sta.29 in Tyson's Corner in November 1991. Very friendly crew that day. Please excuse the posing errors back in those rookie days. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_redface.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Icon_redface' />
