The Mack replaced an older engine and the Midwest was used to open fire station two. The last I heard of the Midwest it had been purchased from our department by a fire district that provides fire protection to the suburbs of San Antonio, Texas. It had been refurbished with a diesel engine and other upgrades. Tobe Carter was Chief at Reisterstown and he told me that the Midwest was on a 1965 International chassis with a 1000 gpm main pump and a pto high pressure pump and it had a 600 gallon tank. While it was at Reisterstown, it was nicknamed the "Fruit Sprayer." Most of the membership was not too fond of this pumper once it arrived. It usually sat behind the 70 Mack CF and would run second piece out. They did confirm the 1000 GPM main pump, PTO high pressure pump and 600 gallon tank.

They use Bel-Air Auto Auctions. (http://www.bscamerica.com/bel-air-auction) I've always wanted to go but have never made it there.
Just like any government practice for them to get rid of any equipment it is usually at the end it's life or is already dead like RE67 that just recently surfaced in <span><span>State Line salvage right before the Maryland Line on RT 272.</span></span>
