The 03 is the year the city got the rig the 0and 3 digit # is the veh. number.
to add to slippery sam's reply the 3 digit numbers get reused as wagons get sold or junked. 312 for example may have been used on several wagons dating back into the 50's and 60's and so on.

Thats what it looks like when you photoshop the numbers. Truck 3 ex Truck2 is lettered it as Middelton and Meads

Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 08-14-2009

Sad to see Truck 2 disbanded....Steadman seems like an empty house--rescue and an engine, along with the medics....perhaps the city is angling to move those two companies and the medics to other quarters and then sell the property?

Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 08-15-2009

The Steadman house was up for sale for years. It may still be. One of the original plans about 8 or more years ago was to build a new smaller house nearby for Eng. 23 and Truck 2 and one of the medic units and to relocate the Rescue company and all the special services to an existing house, possibly more centrally located.

Part of the problem associated with selling the Steadman house property is the building restrictions due to the historic Bromo Seltzer Tower being located on that corner.

Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 08-16-2009

That should have said it was rumored that the Steadman Station was up for sale and runor about the relocation of the companies.

Baltimore City Fire Department - Ladder 68 - 08-16-2009

With T03 getting the rear mount from T02 when they were disbanded, what came of the Seagrave tiller formerly assigned to T03?

Thanks in advance.

Baltimore City Fire Department - Guest - 08-16-2009

As of right now it was rumored that it will be placed in the reserve pool. If it goes to Truck 29 the Simon Duplex LTI that 29 is in now it may not fit in some of the older houses. Truck 29 currently has the oldest truck

The Velocity and Impel have the ugliest front end design I have ever seen. The Arrow XT and Saber look nice and at least resemble a fire truck.
