Pretty innovative of the SFD in an attempt to get the crews off the tailboard. With the looks of it, must have one hell off a step getting in and out. By the way, always liked the Seattle KW rigs. Any photos out there of the KW/Maxim mid-mount aerial?

Ladder 340 (Reserve) in Seattle was this 1973 Kenworth W900 with Curtis-Heiser body and 100' Maxim midmount ladder. Juergen Kiefer photo

Here is another former Seattle Fire Department KW, Apparatus 319, owned by the Last Resort Fire Department. It was assigned as Engine 31 from June 1987 through April 22, 1992.
