Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-27-2011
KRINGS FIRE CO. ????
1978 GMC/3D, sat in Meyersdale,PA. near 4-Guys after being replaced. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-27-2011
Krings is a suburb of Johnstown, PA in Cambria County. The vol. fire dept closed their doors sometime in the '90s. Comemaugh Twp VFD started operations in April 2010 with Ideal VFD about a mile from the former Krings station in Somerset County, thus the Somerset number. I did some Googleing for info on their rescue and found nothing. Bruce
The co. name was changed in the mid-1990's, the current rescue (1996 IH N/New Lex) was delivered w/Conemaugh Twp. lettering and black/red paint. They also got a pickup squad/utility in 2004. Keystone State Relics - YeOldeEnjine - 12-27-2011 My photo of the rig as used in the New Lexington brochure. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-27-2011
FOREST HILLS ALLEGHENY COUNTY
i believe this truck was sold to donora pa not sure those. Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 12-27-2011
i believe this truck was sold to donora pa not sure those.
They did buy it from Forrest Hills Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 12-27-2011
its crazy that monessen keeps all there old rigs in there collection that is just crazy. how many and what kind of trucks does monessen still have???
They have a warehouse where they keep these trucks. I like it. It preserves their history. Wish we could of kept our 27 and 60 LaFrances. Anyway, Monessen has their 1923 Seagrave engine that they refurbed a few years back. Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 12-27-2011 It is pulled by a 1979 Seagrave tractor that was the tractor of a tiller from Pittsburgh, ex 14 Truck. The tiller was scrapped but they kept the tractor. Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 12-27-2011 This is a shot of their 1942 Seagrave aerial. These shots were at the 117th Western PA Firemans Convention in Kiski Township in 2010. Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 12-27-2011 Monessen had bought 2 Seagrave tillers from Pittsburgh. The last one bought was out of New Hampshire or Mass. Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 12-27-2011 This is the new engine that replaced the Ward. It was bought through the AFG program for over $400,000. It is a very nice engine. Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 12-27-2011 A shot of Monessen Engine 1 at the PA State Convention in Latrobe, PA in 1989. I believe this is a 1982. They also had an 89 if Im not mistaken. One of the two had pump issues. Keystone State Relics - jlg1875 - 12-27-2011
THE ORIGIONAL VERSON OF THIS RIG
Anyone know what became of the Greenwood Village Butler County oddball? Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-28-2011 Was sold to Marble Hill Fire Dept in Bollinger County, whatever state that is, and repainted red/white. Was on firetrucksplus a year or two ago, and was sold to EX Drinks of Anaheim Hills, CA. Check out firetrucksplus deliveries, page 9. I like it. It preserves their history. Wish we could of kept our 27 and 60 LaFrances. Anyway, Monessen has their 1923 Seagrave engine that they refurbed a few years back.
Is this rig road worthy or do they just parade in on the trailer? It's a nice looking piece. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-28-2011 Her it is here.
