Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 12-29-2011
monessen also had a alf pumper like 50 or 60 that was sold to a private guy i have seen it at parades and so. Ed what year is New Kensington Ford pumper Freedom has a 1935 Ford Pumper still, but cant take it out much due to some problems still need worked out, it vapor locks if the weather gets to warm
Yes, Monessen had a 700 series ALF. It now has a Detroit Deisel in it. I have a picture of it. It is owned by someone in W.V. I dont think it is Harold Berthy though, Our department had a 1933, a 1935 and a 1937. All 3 were fabricated at the Alcoa plant in the city. We still have the 35 at No.1. In fact, it led the Western convention parade in August having our oldest active member riding on it as a co-parade marshall. Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 12-29-2011
Is this rig road worthy or do they just parade in on the trailer? It's a nice looking piece.
Yes, they just had it restored not long ago. But chose to keep it on the trailer that day.
Monessen, PA.; 1948 ALF 700 1000/300 Restored by Mr. Don Baker(3rd private owner) over 3 years(completed 2003) I believe it is now owned by Ron Siarnicki of the NFFF and a former Monessen resident and vol.ff. Shot by me at Newark,Del. parade 8/2009 I wish we could have seen Monessen's antique fleet when shooting there in 7/2007, but what we got wasn't bad! Keystone State Relics - Guest - 12-31-2011
Actually, it's my photo, taken on 1 of 2 trips to NH Twp. that yr., we came back after the corn went down... One of about 6 York trips in 1994 with the aforementioned Mr. Puck.
Then permit me to ask your forgiveness, (I have a near identical photo in my collection) as I did not intend to cast doubts on your photo credits!!! (although we can always make comments about the "unique" qualities of Mr. Puck!!!!) <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_12_21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Keystone State Relics - Guest - 01-01-2012 SOUTHWEST GREENSBURG PA Keystone State Relics - Guest - 01-01-2012 MIDDLESEX TWP BUTLER COUNTY PA FORD/YOUNG Keystone State Relics - Guest - 01-01-2012 EAST BERLIN PA FORD/SWAB Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 01-01-2012
MIDDLESEX TWP BUTLER COUNTY PA FORD/YOUNG
#64-68 1964 Ford C-950/Young 750/1000 Middlesex Township, PA Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 01-01-2012
EAST BERLIN PA FORD/SWAB
x-Hershey, PA Keystone State Relics - Guest - 01-01-2012
x-Hershey, PA
I think you have confused 2 different rigs, body shape and windows different, diff warning lights, etc. I have the former Serv 11 as a 1976. Not long after delivery of our 1976 Ford L/Swab rescue, members of the East Berlin FD visited our station. They were impressed with our new apparatus and had Swab build a similar, but smaller, version as a service truck. The lighting, paint scheme, and general design are almost identical to our former rescue. I have their apparatus listed as a 1977. Our 1982 Ford L/Swab air truck was about the same size body as East Berlin, but different in body style. Our rescue went to Ottsville, Pa, and was repainted red and white. Last info I had, it was in service in Argentina. The air truck went to Coudersport, PA. I believe it has since been repainted red and white and is in Springdale, PA. Richard B.
