The Village, Texas- an affluent area in Houston, had this 1976 WLF, 1250-500 running as Eng. 201.

Westworth Village, Texas- a suburb of Fort Worth had acquired and refurbed this ex.-Dallas ladder truck, Ladder 3 was a 1970 WLF, 65 ft truck.

An EXCELLENT collection of Ultravision rigs! Thanks for posting! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hail.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hail' />

I believe the Texas dealer for Ward LaFrance was Fire Fox, who also built apparatus under their own label, but featured bodies that were almost carbon copies of WLF bodies.

There's something to be said for a pair of 4-lamp beacon rays on the corner of the cab of a piece of fire equipment.

My pleasure. I've really enjoyed looking at all the WLF photos.Thats a large portion of if not most of my WLF collection. I'll add more if I run into them while trying scan all my photos. Sorry they aren't posed correctly but I was and still am a novice at photography. Firefox sounds familiar. I'll have to check for any that I may have photographed.

Yeah, it just doesn't look like a typical WLF roof or passenger windows.

Thats true from what I saw and photographed. The firebrands were the last of the open cab rigs. I managed to get 3-4 photographed before they were gone.

From what I've seen/saw, those airpack holders on the roof were a Dallas exclusive. I don't know of any other Dept. that had them, at least in Texas.

You said it, I sure wish I'd been a stockholder for sure or a commissioned salesman for them$$$$$$$

Lubbock, TX had some WLF's- anyone have pix?

Ward LaFrance Ultravision - Guest - 02-24-2009

I found a couple of WLF's I hadn't posted yet. First up is this 1975 WLF, 1250-500 rig that belonged to the La Porte, Texas Fire Dept.

Ward LaFrance Ultravision - Guest - 02-24-2009

I'd bet a steak dinner this rig once belonged to the Port Jervis, NJ Fire Dept. I ran into it when I was out photographing rigs in the Beaumont area back in the early 80's. It was running with the Vidor Fire Dept. It's a 1972 WLF/Gerstensleger, rescue-250-500. Don't know what happened to it after I photographed it. Thats it for now. I'll post em as I find 'em or photograph 'em.
