Fire Truck Works, open cab, 350/200, front-mount pump, lighter engine purchased for long trips outside of borough where water was limited, booster reel mounted high behind driver, Barton front mount pump, dual rear wheels, pneumatic tires, cost $2,722, it was never housed, body produced in Roslyn, PA. Sold in 1948. 1948 International K-8/?, full cab, 6 cyl. 126 HP motor, 500GPM Front-mount Darley pump, 1310 gallon tank, full contoured body. It was delivered 3/48 and housed on 5/25/49 at a cost of $6,704. Body was built locally, was remounted on the 1968 International. Accourding to my records - this was not an Oren. 1949 Autocar C-/Oren, eight man sedan cab, 500/500. It was ordered on 7/47, the chassis was delivered 12/47, but it wasn’t delivered to the company until 4/1/49 and it was housed on 5/25/49 at a cost of $12,000. It had a Autocar Type 501 motor, 6 cyl. 165HP. Sold out of the fire service in 1965 or 1966 to Kaolin Mushroom Farms. This type of cab was not a standard offering of the manufacture at the time-it had to have been built aftermarket by a specialty body builder, Hale pump, carried 30ft 3-section aluminum ladder, 1.5 KW portable generator purchased by the ladies auxiliary. Keystone State Relics - BA000049 - 01-24-2007 Frank, Additional info on the Christiana rigs: 1923 Ruggles/Hale, 500 GPM, purchased for $5,200, delivered 10/23/23, Type D. The chassis was scrapped in 1935. 1934 White/Hale/U.S. Fire Apparatus, full cab, 500 GPM, used the pump off of the 1923 unit, still in service in 1965. 1942 Autocar/U.S. Fire Apparatus, full cab, 500/500, still in service in 1970, might have been sold to Galeton (Potter County). Last seen on Rt. 115 in New Buffalo. 1958 International V200/TASC, full cab, 750/1000, in service 10/58, gas motor, 4-speed manual transmission. It was refurbed in 1983 with the pump being rebuilt, a new tank, and new pump panels. It was sold in 1989 to a fire company in MS. By 2006, owned by a collector in MA. 1969 Dodge Power Wagon 300/Hahn, 4X4 sidestep pickup, 160/120, repainted in 2000 by Apple Sales, a used car dealership in the borough. 1981 International S1900/4-Guys, full cab, 450 PTO/2500 stainless steel elliptical tanker, 446 CI gas motor, 234 HP, 5-speed/2-speed rear manual transmission. Housed 7/11/81. It was sold to Strasburg Fire Company (Lancaster County, PA) in 1991 who replaced it in 2000 and sold it to Northeast Fire Apparatus for $17,000 who sold it to the Bean County Fire Department, Nemahah, KS. Dick Adelman Photos West End is Chester County station 43 Washington is station 41 Keystone State Relics - Frank B - 01-25-2007 Cochranville, Chester County station #27 Ford F 1952 or 1956 (they had two) Keystone State Relics - BA000049 - 01-25-2007 Frank, Info on the Coatesville rigs: 1928 Seagrave, open cab, 750 GPM, reg. no. 51695, large one piece windshield, painted 2/9/28 – first piece bought by the city government, windshield added in 1951, round hose basket on top, right hand drive. It was sold to a fire company in Halifax, VA then to an individual in NC. 1950 Seagrave, sedan cab, 750/125, reg. no. E9100, model 66-750, painted 9/11/50, 12 cylinder Continental gas motor, 5-speed manual transmission. It was housed on 10/21/50 at a cost of $15,410. In 1980 it was sold out of reserve status. In 1998, sitting in a driveway in Chambers Hill, PA belonging to Dave Busky. 1963 Seagrave, 70th Aniversary, full cab, 750/300. It was housed on 4/11/64 at a cost of $26,000. It was sold in 1984 to the Gold Coast Fire Equipment, a dealer out of Houston, Texas. By 2004 it was owned by a member of the Lone Star Fire Museum. 1937 American LaFrance, Type 450 RB, open cab, 500/100, reg. no. L-880, shipped 6/23/37, sales order no. 1223, housed on 7/17/37 at a cost of $7,100, open squad body, left hand drive, purchased by the city, 124 HP motor, booster reel in rear. It was sold to the Westwood Fire Company (Chester County) in 1960. 1951 Seagrave, sedan cab, 750/150, reg. no. F1925, painted 1/26/51, model 66-75012, cylinder Continental gas motor, 202 HP, 5-speed manual transmission. Purchased by the company, placed into service on 2/2/51, and it was housed on 4/14/51 at a cost of $16,712. It was sold in 1980 out of reserve status to a Frank Trimble who sold it in the same year to Don Creason of Charlotte, NC. Don restored it twice. It is no longer lettered West End. Cochranville: 1951 Ford F/Midwest, full cab, 500/1000, 337 CI V-8 gas motor, 5-speed manual transmission, less than 24 hours after being delivered, pressed into service when a chicken house caught fire, driven to call by factory engineer, sold in 3/72 to the Goodwill Fire Company of Washington Boro (Lancaster County) for $3,950. The motor was overhauled in 8/79. Sold in the summer of 1981.
