Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-01-2012 That explains it then. I thought Loyalsock had purchased it new. Keystone State Relics - LarimerSta1 - 09-01-2012 A few more before returning to real life tomorrow (I've been in Kingwood, WV, at Camp Dawson...). I hope someone finds these interesting. The next few are from some more closed fire departments. I find these interesting but sad. Boston, Elizabeth Township, Allegheny County Attack 140 Subsequently used by Greenock, also in Elizabeth Townhip. I have heard it is now sitting outside at Bunola. x Boston, Allegheny County Engine 140, then Rescue 144 Also saw service at Greenock, and was relettered as you can see. I was sold to Clairton and may no longer be there. Glassport #2, Allegheny County Engine 162 x. Mount Lebanon Glassport #2 Ladder 162 Now repainted and serving as Ladder 81-3 in Monessen, Westmoreland County. Keystone State Relics - LarimerSta1 - 09-01-2012 Note that the next few fire departments do still exist. Heidelberg, Allegheny County Engine 170-2 Peasant Valley, O'Hara Township, Allegheny County Special Service Frazer #1, Allegheny County Engine 159 I believe this is a fairly unique Young? Monroeville #3, Allegheny County Mini 3 This terrible photo is from after is was involved in an accident, hence no lettering onthe cab. It was disposed of shortly after I shot it and replaced with a less mini "mini." Keystone State Relics - LarimerSta1 - 09-01-2012 Fairfield Township, Westmoreland County Tanker 111 Rechassied on a new International Keystone State Relics - LarimerSta1 - 09-01-2012 Steelton, Dauphin County Tower 50 NOT ex. FDNY, x. Harrisburg Honey Pot, Nanticoke #6, Luzerne County Engine 6 Goodness knows who owns this now, maybe some fire photographer bought it <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Freeland, Luzerne County Pipeline 53 Now privately owned. Keystone State Relics - LarimerSta1 - 09-01-2012 Hazle Township, Luzerne County Tower 105 Tilbury, Plymouth Township, Luzerne County Rescue Unit Last one, Stickney, Nanticoke, Luzerne County This company was in the process of being shut down. The older gentleman looking at me stated this was the last event (6 County Convention in Nanticoke, June 24, 2006) they would be attending while in existance. A good old American LaFrance. Keystone State Relics - OPEN CAB MACK - 09-01-2012
Note that the next few fire departments do still exist. It was disposed of shortly after I shot it and replaced with a less mini "mini."
The Pleasant Valley rescue is a Hamerly. Monroeville No. 3 replaced the mini with a 4-Guys mini. Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 09-01-2012 Quote: Frazer #1, Allegheny County I'm pretty sure this is 83N765, a 1983 Young Crusader II 1250/500/40F that was delivered to Bailey's Crossroads, VA and later served in Walnut Bottom, PA and Gilberton, PA and ended up in Burnettsville, IN. Maybe someone else can confirm. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-01-2012 Dave, Not sure about the Gilberton part. I know that after Frazer Twp. #1 had it, it went to Gibraltar Fire Co. in Berks County, PA. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-01-2012 Pleasant Valley Rescue doesnt look like a Hamerly. Maybe a Bruco or Swab. Pleasant Valley DID have a Ford C/Hamerly top mount pumper. Maybe they painted it to look like the Hamerly pumper. Also the Monroeville mini IS a Hamerly Keystone State Relics - jlg1875 - 09-01-2012 That Pleasant Valley Ford C tandem still floating around somewhere? Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-02-2012
Murrysville, Westmoreland County Rescue 20 I believe this went to West Virginia to help a fire department in need Slickville, Westmoreland County Tanker 59-1 Remount of a very old Ford Tanker
Bill, the Murrysville rig was donated to the "infamous" Bakerton,WV VFD, it did not last long as it was stored outside and suffered pump/motor damage due to a freeze. There are probably pics of it on the Bakerton thread. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-02-2012 Good grief! This Ford C has a Swab body, one of the largest up to that time and one of the 1st tandem rears used by SWAB. Delivered to Lorton,VA IN 1973, sold to O'Hara TWP. in 1988.Featured in books and magazines. Mike Sanders photo, my collection Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-02-2012 The Steelton Mack aerialscope is actually x-Harrisburg, the 1971 rig was sold to Steelton in rough shape in 1990, it was rebuilt by SFD members over several years. The story of this Mack is in Dave Houseal's 1st book, "We can see it from the bridge". Steelton does have an xFDNY engine. This is how it looked in the late winter of 1992. WW Jenkins photo Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-02-2012 Fairfield Twp.,Westmoreland Co., as rebuilt by New Lex w/ 2003 IH 4400 chassis 2009 image by WW Jenkins Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-02-2012 The Steelton Tower is still alive and kicking out in the Midwest. I believe it is up in Minnesota. Keystone State Relics - wardengine - 09-02-2012
Hazle Township, Luzerne County Tower 105 Tilbury, Plymouth Township, Luzerne County Rescue Unit Last one, Stickney, Nanticoke, Luzerne County This company was in the process of being shut down. The older gentleman looking at me stated this was the last event (6 County Convention in Nanticoke, June 24, 2006) they would be attending while in existance. A good old American LaFrance.
yes , stickney had their station closed, in 2006 convention they had the alf draped in black as wwell as all their badges, the fire co gave this engine to neighboring newport twp fire dept with the stipulation stickney name was to remain on it, if/when they didn't want it it was to come back to the stickney membership, who kept charter still active, for them to decide on its final dispostition.it is a complicated arrangement in nanticoke city they have 6 vol companies but have paid drivers at the headquarter station but somehow have it in their contract that the vol.s can't respond until called, their personell are to respond to all calls but their piece is not to go until called for, i know it sounds as complicated as it is,the only stipulation was if the call is in their first due area, then they are "aloud" to respond their piece, the city owns the quint & engine in hheadquarters, #1 (stickney & #5 (Washington) both sold the apparatus they had after the city closed their stations & paying utilities/insurance on them, they were given the "option" to move their piece to headquarters where the carrer firefighters would use them as they saw fit, so 1 &5 both decided rather than have their stuff used by someone BUT them they sold it or donated it , #4 hanover still has a city owned piece a '74 hahn still in service, #6 (honey pot) which has always been independent of city still has their station they own as well as the engine they own Keystone State Relics - GA_Dave - 09-02-2012 Hazle Township was still running their Mack Aerialscope last month. The Seagrave was in the shop. Keystone State Relics - smketrfdny - 09-02-2012
Steelton, Dauphin County Tower 50 x.
Is that the clown on the Steelton riig who claimed to be on the job 09/11? What a bozo if it is. Oh, and nice pic of that classic Mack. Stay safe, Brothers.
