Heading home I stopped by Stafford County, Virginia's newest station - Station 12 in Berea. Fire Station 12 is located on a busy part of Route 17, near I95 and Fredricksburg.

Station 12 opened on February 1, 2008 of this year. Work is still being finalized inside and outside of the station. Currently staffed is Quint 12. Originally, this truck was to be "Ladder 12" but its designation was later changed after the Quint arrived.

An engine is planned for the station, but budget restrictions need to be worked out first. There is a ambulance kept at the station, but it is not staffed. Quint 12 is staffed with four personnel and is ALS certified. In addition to fire calls, it runs first due for ALS/BLS calls. Since February 1st, it has run over 400 calls.

Here is a pic of our 2002 Pierce Dash. We are really pleased how close they both match. We took a few steps back with the new rig taking off some of the options and making a shorter wheelbase, which will be nice in Winchester. Just a basic firefighting rig!

Good photos of the South End ride. They look like twins! I can see the differences in each. Very nice!

You can drive your apparatus out on the beach without sinking it, thats great! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

Yea it was pretty cool. We caught the tide just right and they allow cars on the beach.

Not really the right thread for ambuolance pics, but here are some photos of our new medic unit we took delivery of in July 07. GMC/Horton painted to match the pumpers. All three look really good together. These pics were from 2008 Va State Chiefs Show

No the crew from South End took the rig down to the beach that morning and they allowed us a few mins to take some pics. We were hoping the sun would have done better for us but who cares South End rigs never see the beach so it was cool.
