That ALF is Rsv.Truck 41 the tiller from Leesburg Va. They called that Truck Barney because it had a purple looking red to it.

I will scan my shots of it and post it.

Here is Rescue one when they had the New E\-One on a building fire.

Please Feel free to post some Classic BCFD stuff to get this thread going again.

That LaFrance was one of two trucks the city purchased from Va. Leesburg if I remember. One was a 73 Seagrave that went to Truck 29 and the other was that ALF it was assigned to Reserve pool as RT 41 Its nick name was "Barney" it was sold to a collector in France.

I did get sold to a collector and ended up in France - not sure you will find to many U.S. apparatus photos in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Balto's Original color scheme was red fenders with white body. Basically every orange part used to be red prior to 1973.

DC's on the other had was white and red prior to the Stars & Bars. DC would paint the very top of the roof white and then had a large white strip around the cab/body.

I do agree some of the paint schemes made city's very identifiable. Although some of the paint schemes were not the original per say. I myself prefer Solid RED, Solid White, or Black over RED. Stay Safe.
