Empire State Oldies - Guest - 01-07-2009 Empire State Oldies - Guest - 01-07-2009 South Glens Falls purchased the truck from a equipment dealer in Newburgh, N.Y. around 89/90. The truck had a GMC Tilt Cab, about a year the box was moved to the Ford L Chassis. When South Glens Falls purchased the KME Rescue the Ford was sold to Victory Mills, N.Y. One of the members that was involved when the truck was purchased said that there was no builder markings and they had no idea on who built the box. To me it looks like Swab could have builts it. Many of them were taken in the 80's by me at various parades and musters around the area. I hope you all will enjoy them, and if you have any info on them please feel free to add it to the pics, as back in those days I didn't take down much info on the rigs just took pics of them. First off is this Mack Engine from the Attica,NY FD. It still is owned by them to this day, and makes several appearances at WNY parades during the summertime. This pic was taken at the 1985 Rochester SPAAMFAA muster. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Next up is this Seagrave engine which used to serve the Brockport, NY FD. This particular company of the Brockport,NY FD still runs vehicles in this color, which BTW, the company is known as having their engines called "The Grey Ghost". This picture was also from the 85 muster. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Next up is another Seagrave engine which also served the Brockport, NY FD also in the familiar "Grey" colors of the company, which is known as the Capen Hose Company, where the Brockport FD Museum is located at, and also their infamous September 11th Memorial which is located there as well. This pic is also from the 85 muster. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Next up is this Seagrave Tiller, which used to serve the Buffalo, NY FD as Truck-4, also taken at the 85 muster. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Next up is an officers side view of the former Buffalo Truck-4. This pic was taken at the National SPAAMFAA muster which was held here in Rochester in 1988. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Next up is this Buffalo Engine, which used to serve the Bushnell's Basin,NY FD, and it also has served at the Fairport,NY FD. I believe that it is currently owned by the Fairport FD. This pic was taken at the 85 muster. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Next up is another former Bushnell's Basin, NY engine. this one is a Ford/? and the pic was taken at the 88 National muster. |
