Same spot we are moving out of our current station March 4th once construction is complete at 10 they will move us back in and transfer our tent city to 18 or 4's area then they will demolish their current fire houses and build brand new ones.

Your tent isnt big enough for all of 18s junk.... But this isnt the thread for that discussion.

Putting this back on track of Montgomery County, MD... here is Truck 716 located in the Four Corners Section of Silver Spring. There was talk about this truck before. This unit was bought by the SSVFD which is why it is lettered as such. Even though it says "Silver Spring Vol. Fire Dept." on the aerial it is fully staffed by MCFR Career Firefighters. The truck was permanently assigned to Company 16 on September 20, 2012 by the Fire Chief. Prior to permanent assignment as discussed the personnel from Company 2 were on a detail with the truck. The truck and personnel were previously on a temporary detail from Company 2 to Company 1 and then Company 16 before being made permanent. After delivery of this truck, it was assigned to Company 1 and the MCFR Career personnel began using it. At the time this unit was placed in-service, Truck 2 (County Owned) which was running as Truck 701 became a reserve truck for the county.

Truck 716 is a 2008 Pierce Arrow XT Tractor Drawn Aerial with a 100' aerial. As noted prior this is recognized as an extrication truck in Montgomery County as are all TDA's in the county. When bought it was the same spec as the county TDA's and as such was set up identical to the other TDA's in the county.

Thanks for the information. How many TDA's does the career department operate front line and in reserve? Thanks in advance. Stay Safe, Rick

In total there are 5 TDA's, 8 Towers, and 1 Straight Truck that run front line in Montgomery County. Hopefully you can understand the following.

TDA's in Montgomery County are all operated by Career Personnel. There are 5 frontline TDA's in the County. They are as follows - Truck 706, Truck 710, Truck 716, Truck 725, and Truck 731.

There are 4 TDA reserves that I can think of and I am pretty sure is it for reserves - Two 1997 Seagrave TDA's (Formerly Trucks 712 and 725), One 2005 Pierce TDA (Formerly Truck 702), and One 2008 Pierce TDA (Formerly Truck 712 before Truck 712 was disbanded). Of the reserve TDA's they were all extrication trucks when they ran frontline except the Seagrave that ran as Truck 725.

There are also 8 frontline Towers operated in Montgomery County. They are as follows - Tower 703, Tower 708, Tower 718, Tower 719, Tower 723, Tower 734, Tower 735, and Tower 751.

- All the towers listed are Pierce All-Steer Towers with the exception of Towers 723, 734, and 751. Towers 723 and 734 are Pierce Mid-mount Towers.

- Tower 751 is a Pierce rear mount and operated by the NIH FD who runs off base into Montgomery County.

It should also be noted that all of the Front line Towers are operated by MCFR Career Personnel with the exception of Towers 703 and 751. Tower 703 is operated by career personnel during the weekdays from 0700-1700. On nights and weekends the volunteers usually staff it (sometimes they are given a tower driver that is career). Then Tower 751 is operated by NIH career personnel.

Truck 715 is also recognized as a front line straight truck. This unit is owned by Burtonsville VFD. It is to much to explain how the staffing works right now with Truck 715. It is a combination of Career and Volunteers that staff it.

- Truck 740 I don't believe is recognized by the county anymore. This unit used to be cross staffed along with the engine at Company 40 by the career personnel. I will check on this to be sure though.

- Tower 705 is staffed rarely and only when the volunteers at Company 5 place the unit in-service.

Engine Co. Thanks for the information, are the engines career also? Thanks again for the info. Stay Safe, Rick

There are also

3 E\-One towers in reserve

1 E\-One straight truck in reserve

1 All Steer in reseve

The 97 Seagrave TDA that ran as T25 will be going to auction soon, and money has been approved for a new TDA. I'm not sure which TDA it will replace or if it will go into the reserve fleet.

Have career staffing during the day, and at night that staff helps the corporations cross staff other units.

705 has no career at night

And 727 is the training academy unit.

Keep in mind we as the career staff are supplemental help, IF any corporation can produce qualified people for any unit in their house they can take that unit over. 2,3,4,5,9,10,13,14,15, 17,24,29,40, all have corporation own units. E715, and Stations 22, 34, 35, are full time career stations. Confused yet?

Just recently got my first DSLR camera and just beginning to learn how to use it. Mainly been using auto while I learn the other functions. Not to happy with my first set of photos due to the way the shadows and angles ended up. Still learning though. Anyways without further delay here are the units from Station 22 (Germantown Kingsview).

Tanker 722 is a 2012 Pierce/International 7600

Also learning to resize using paint (?). I am hoping the files are of right size.

Decon 722 - 2006 Chevrolet W4500 Box Truck

Montgomery County MD - Guest - 02-27-2013

FYI.... The MAB and MCSU are each one of two like units in Montgomery County. The other MAB and MCSU are at Station 26. The Decon unit is also one of I believe 3 in the county. Sorry again for the pictures not looking as well when re-sized. The only unit from Station 22 I didn't get pictures of was Ambulance 722 which is a 2010 Freightliner/Wheeled Coach.

How are these holding up? Do the guys like them?

Montgomery County MD - Guest - 02-27-2013

I have an Olympus Digital SLR and I also is paint to resize the photos. I also us it when using my Kodak that saves pics at 15 mpx. Wish there was a quicker way!

Montgomery County MD - Tillerman1664 - 06-28-2013

Update... The Tower that went to Station 34 from Station 29 is now being moved to Station 24. The TDA that was marked as T 712 is now marked as T 734. Three new wagons and a ladder truck are in the works.

Montgomery County MD - chief60 - 06-28-2013

Are they going to leave a truck at 16 & 24? Or is 16 going back to 2? Are there going to be any changes to the engine design?

Truck stays at 16 and as of so far no changes except for small nut and bolt type items, nothing on the user side.
