Just a bump so this topic doesn't disappear if board clean up happens again, too important and too many great pics to lose!!

Former Wheatland Fire Company (Lancaster County, PA)

Merged in 1991 with Bausman Fire Company to form the Lancaster Township Fire Department.

The township's first ladder was Truck 6-9

1987 Pierce Arrow / Smeal 75' quint.

This unit was only in service with our department from 1987 to 1991 when it was sold to Bath, Maine. We sold it to make room for a 75' Mack Aerialscope which was acquired from the Paxtonia Fire Company.

Here is the the truck that replaced the '87 Pierce above.

Our department's 2nd truck was this 1974 Mack / Baker with a Detroit series motor. In service with the LTFD from 1991 to 1998 when it was then sold to Elizabethtown, PA.

Brickerville Fire Company in Northern Lancaster County, PA still has this 1947 International KB5. It was purchased as a US Army surplus vehicle and painted the company's color of red. It features a 500 GPM pump and 300 gallon water tank.

In 1951 or 1952, Larry Eckert, the Company's Chief Engineer, parked the pumper too close to a barn that was burning and caused the discoloration to the front. They never fixed the damage.

This antique still gets taken out once a week and driven around Brickerville to keep everything in working order.

First off, I apologize for the crappy shoot. I had to shoot this through my windshield while the truck was still moving in order to get the shot.

Caught this driving down the road the other day. It is a 1975 Hahn/LTI 85' that belonged to Wilkes-Barre (PA) FD at one point, where its designation was Aerial Platform 8. Not sure if any FD had it before or afterwards. Now it is used on a farm, and was previously used by a concrete company.
