Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Next up is this ALF engine which formerly served the Waterloo,NY FD. this picture was taken at the 85 muster. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Next up is this Chevrolet/? crew cab rescue which formerly served the West Bloomfield,NY FD. this picture was taken at the 85 ERFD parade. This was probably one of the first crew cab type rescues of this kind in this area at the time. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Next up is this GMC/Sanford? rescue truck which formerly served the Ridge-Culver FD, which is one of my neighboring FD's here in Irondequoit,NY. This picture was taken at the 1986 Webster FD Parade. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-20-2009 Last up for tonight for this thread until I can find more of my pictures is this Ford C/Young open cab engine which also formerly served the Ridge-Culver FD. They also ran another engine almost identical to this one back in the 70's and 80's. This was also taken at the 86 Webster FD parade. If anyone has any better pics of this rig, please do post them, as I would like to see a better quality pic of this rig, or the other one they ran with. I hope you have all enjoyed tonight's pics in this thread, and I'll post more as I find them. Sorry the pictures weren't of better quality, but they were taken back in the 80's when I first started taking pics of rigs, with a Kodak Disk Camera. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-21-2009 Ok, well I found a few more pics on the same CD I was looking through, so here are a few more rigs from NY. First up is this Dodge Diplomat former Chief's car which also was owned by the Ridge-Culver FD. Picture taken at the 86 Webster FD parade. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-21-2009 Next up is this old ??? Steamer which was owned by the Owego,NY FD taken at the 88 National muster. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-21-2009 Next up is this ALF Engine which is owned by the East Rochester,NY FD. This was taken at the 1999 ERFD parade, and the vehicle still resides in a glass enclosure at the East Rochester FD to this day. Empire State Oldies - matchot - 01-21-2009 Next up is this ?? Buffalo engine which is owned by the Honeyoe Falls FD. The department still owns this vehicle to this day, and it can be seen at many of the summertime functions around the area. This picture was taken at the 1985 WNY Firemens convention parade in Hilton,NY. Body was originally on a '48-ish Ford F series, and remounted on the GMC in the early '80s. Unknown where that truck is today. Amazing how it could produce anything from really grainy to really good pictures, I think it depended on what batch of film you happened to get. Yes, Ridge Culver had 2 of these, about 2 years apart, not sure which one this is, but the older one was gas - 5 spd manual trans - hyd brakes, the newer one was diesel - autamatic trans - air brakes. Jeff, can't really make it out, but is that one of the brothers Loce at the wheel? John H. |
