DCFD Photos, old or new - Rob Pryor - 08-16-2006
DCFD 1929 American LaFrance 85' Wooden Ladder Truck-5
Those guys on Truck 5 look quite spiffy in their shirts and ties!!!!! Thank God that uniform style is no longer en vogue!!!!!!!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 09-02-2006 I just caught this crappy shot of Rescue 2 outside my apartment about an hour ago. I am wonder what's the reason for with the "custom" Rescue 2 sign over the rescue 1 number? Did R-1 Get a new rig or something? Thanks in adavance Art DCFD Photos, old or new - Ladder 68 - 09-02-2006 That sign is probably covering "Haz Mat 1" on the rear doors. This rig, I think a '02 E\-One Cyclone II, was replaced by the new Seagrave and is probably a reserve now. DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 09-05-2006 Ladder 68 has it right. The rig in the picture is the former Hazmat-1, which was a kludge of a new Cyclone-II cab and a rehabbed E\-One rescue body of former RS-1. This unit was only in service as HM-1 for a short time, serving between an ALF demo, and the current custom Seagrave. They are motivation for me to get the rest of the roster for my own collection. You can spot Engine 11 coming a long way off with all blue lights on the Roto-Ray. DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 12-01-2006 Wonderful shots Ahrens Fox! I always loved that old 3 stars/2 bars paint scheme. Got any others you could post? Kurt DCFD Photos, old or new - crapgame79 - 12-02-2006 roto rays are cool as heck!! thats why (plus you can see them from a very long way off) DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 12-02-2006
the bottom engine looks like its got somekind of a curtain in the middle window am i seeing things? cool shoti always like dc apparutes never understood the need for rotorays though?
You're seeing things in the window. There is no NEED for Roto-Rays, thats why we pay for them out of our pockets, not with tax dollars. Still no chance of Rescue 4 getting reactivated anytime soon, I guess? Stars and bars sucked. Always reminded me of Crackhead Marion Barry. Though considered "buffy", the roto-ray is a very effective warning device. E-25 was one of 2 E-1's, IIRC. E-16 got the other one. |
