Canada Eh? - Guest - 09-04-2011
what kind of detail photos of the range trucks would you like? There are still a few that are awaiting delivery so I should be able to photograph whatever you wish. Please let me know. Rob, mia culpa. As I stay at a hotel in Claresholm and depend on sunny weather, it is hard to determine where I will be in advance. I will try to make a point of contacting you before my trip next year.
Haha.... just bustin' ya.... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Canada Eh? - CdnFireTruckBuff - 09-06-2011 This is my first post on this website. Have only been photographing apparatus for the last couple of years seriously. As Big Dave mentioned in an earlier post, I had the privilege of spending some time with him in August while he was making his way west across the prairies. Learned lots from the guru of fire apparatus photography, and found our way into halls and getting rigs driven out that I did not think would be possible. Will not forget Olds for while!! Photographed a good number of rigs during our time. Here is another new unit that Airdrie took delivery of from Pierce - a 2010 100' Rear Mount Platform Aerial, 1750GPM / 250GWT / 40F on a Velocity chassis, Pierce Job #22867, Shop # 2307. Captain Mike Pirie was a great host. Canada Eh? - Big Dave - 09-07-2011 thanks for all the kind comments. Tim, I did not receive the email. John, it was my pleasure to spend a few days buffing with you. We had a lot of fun and good photographic opportunities. I too will remember our experience at OLDS for some time! Canada Eh? - fyregeek - 09-07-2011 shot this morning Calgary, Alberta - High Rise Support Unit 2011 Spartan Gladiator/SVI this massive rig has not yet been delivered Canada Eh? - jlg1875 - 09-07-2011 Nice! Is it in BC or are you in Calgary? Canada Eh? - Fire28 - 09-07-2011
thanks for all the kind comments. Tim, I did not receive the email.
Sent ya 2 messages on here Dave. Canada Eh? - Guest - 09-07-2011 Is that Calgary truck going to be full time staffed, or crossmanned? Canada Eh? - Guest - 09-08-2011 A few of the rigs operated by the Montreal Auxiliary Fire Department (the Buffalos), who operate the Montreal Fire Museum, restore antique vehicles and provide rehab on fire scenes (with 2 mobile canteens and a mobile first aid vehicle seen below). Canada Eh? - Guest - 09-08-2011 And one of the Montreal Fire Department prevention vehicles. Canada Eh? - Guest - 09-08-2011 Two shots of Montreal Fire Department ladder 478, housed at Station 78 in Côte Saint-Luc. Canada Eh? - Guest - 09-08-2011
Is that Calgary truck going to be full time staffed, or crossmanned?
I haven't heard yet but I suspect it will be shared manning with the boat crew from 6 station. Canada Eh? - CdnFireTruckBuff - 09-11-2011 High Rise unit is going to Station 10 on 16 Avenue NW
I haven't heard yet but I suspect it will be shared manning with the boat crew from 6 station.
Canada Eh? - Guest - 09-11-2011
High Rise unit is going to Station 10 on 16 Avenue NW
That will be interesting.... especially if EN10 is pulled on a second alarm downtown. Unless they are staffing it 24/7. Canada Eh? - Big Dave - 09-21-2011 The International Airport in Victoria, BC has this 2011 Rosenbauer Panther 1850/3000/400 500# DC and 50' HRET Canada Eh? - Fire28 - 09-21-2011 NIce Pic. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yourock.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yourock.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yourock.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Canada Eh? - Big Dave - 09-21-2011 thanks Tim. It has taken me a few tries to master this new computer - and I use the term master with extreme caution! Anyway, John (In Calgary) and Terry (in BC) seem to be a little slow in posting some photos so here are a few more. Calgary, Alberta received 17 or so new pumpers from Rosenbauer in late 2010. E 12 is one of them. 1500/560/30 Canada Eh? - Big Dave - 09-21-2011 E52 in Qualicum Beach,BC is this 2011 Hub/Spartan Gladiator 1750/780/20 Canada Eh? - Big Dave - 09-21-2011 while in the Vancouver area, I had the opportunity of accompanying Shane and Bob ( 2 Vancouver fire fighters who are also extraordinary fire buffs/apparatus photographers) to the local SVI dealer. There we photographed this new rescue going up to Fort Nelson in Northern BC. 2011 SVI/Spartan Gladiator s/n #794 It has a 60 gallon TRIMAX CAFS on board. The cab has a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We were told that runs of 8 hours are not uncommon (4 hours each way). Canada Eh? - Big Dave - 09-21-2011 not really a Canadian apparatus but one built in Canada: 2011 Fort Garry Fire Trucks/Ford F450 4x4 125/250/40 300# DC for the United Arab Emirates Canada Eh? - Big Dave - 09-21-2011 Fishing Lake Metis Settlements in Alberta will be receiving this 2011 Fort Garry Fire Trucks/FL-M2 106V 840/1000/25 s/n #M274 Please note that the graphics highlight the Metis culture with the " infinity" symbol of the Metis (figure 8 lying on its side) and the colours of the striping which are reflective of the Metis sash. |
