Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Squad 18 from the 1980's. Use to play on this rig as a kid. Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Squad 21 Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Engine and Pumper 21 in 1984 Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 I believe by the time this picture was taken the frontline rigs were designated as "Engines" and the Wagon term was a thing of the past. Engine 28 Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Pumper 14 in 1984 Fairfax County VA - SrFireOfficial - 03-04-2010 There were seven of the 1983 Duplex-E\-One pumpers on the apparatus roster when I was hired in 1984 assigned as follows: Engine Company 4 (Herndon), Engine Company 9 (Mount Vernon), Engine Company 11 (Penn Daw), Engine Company 21 (Navy Vale, renamed Fair Oaks), Engine Company 26 (Edsall Road), Engine Company 27 (West Springfield) and Engine Company 28 (Seven Corners). Engine Company 4 operated a two piece engine company at the time (wagon and engine)using one of the Imperial-E\-One's as their supply pumper. Engine Company 21's rig was delivered in the Navy-Vale's color of white with a blue stripe, county seal but no other volunteer company markings. Engine 21 (V7138) was later retro-fitted with a CAF system and rehabbed with a 4-door enclosed cab and last assigned to Engine Company 12 in Great Falls. Engines 27 and 28 were also rehabbed with 4-door enclosed cabs and returned to their respective stations. Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Engine 14 in 1984 Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Tower 3. At some point in this units history the phrase "Tower Power" was painted above the front windshield. Classic! Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Wagon 8 Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Engine 27 and Truck Company 8 Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Truck Company 22 operating at a 27 Box Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 County reserve ladder running as Truck 8. Love the old county emblem. Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Engine 14 running as Squad 14 at the time of this photo. Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Wagon 23 and Engine 8 at FFx City's "Old Fashioned Firemans Day" in 1983. Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Wagon 22 in 1983 Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Engine 27 (seen here after the cab was enclosed) and Rescue Squad 19 Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Rescue Squad 14 in the 80's. My personal favorite of the county's Squads at the that time. A true beast. Ran many calls including my first working house fire when this rig served Philomont as Engine 8. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/luxhello.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Fairfax County VA - Guest - 03-04-2010 Former Truck 28 operating as Truck 22 in this photo (though still marked as T28).
