Denver Metro Fire Apparatus - Guest - 12-07-2012 Any idea why the LTI ladder was called a Squrt as opposed to a Quint, looks like a 75'?
I'm not sure really, they called it that when it was delivered in the mid 80's and I'm guessing that Quint wasn't in the local fire vocabulary at the time. I think eventually it was called a Quint since it had basically the same specs as the 75' Pierce. I'll ask around and try to find more details.
Just seems odd, all the other Squrts were much smaller devices, LFR, EFD, Lakewood/Bancroft, Denver were all 55's. I don't think anyone was running a 65' or 75' at the time.
