I was told that they were using a spare the day before and it broke down, so rather than use another spare, they opted to get their rig back from the shops and have them re-do the lettering at another time. Why it was in the shops to be re-lettered, I don't know.
Interesting that they were using a spare and it broke down. Maybe thats why they have more than 1 spare truck.

Does anyone have any pictures of the Pierce Rescue that the FDNY bought for Rescue 1 ???

I am also wondering how they like the Pierce Rescue compared to the E\-One Salisbury units.

Hm. I noticed this awhile ago but never mentioned it. Is this one of, if not the ONLY FDNY truck with dual air horns? (I dont mean Rescue 3s freight train horns either LOL)

F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 11-15-2007

I believe that Rescue 1 has a set of Train Horns now as well.

F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 11-15-2007

Really? Do they actually use them/work? Or is it for show.

F.D.N.Y. - goon16 - 11-15-2007

the rescue also has a set of train horns (meaning rescue 2 because thats how they refer to themselves as)

rescue 1 is not the only rig with dual air horns some of the older rigs had duals
