Andrew Messer Photos - Andrew2340 - 05-18-2014 After several more stops without much luck, we then found willing souls at Cooley Springs-Fingerville in Spartanburg County, SC. Speaking of which, does anybody know where the Freightliner FL80/Sutphen they used to run (ex-Mountain Home, NC) ended up? Cooley Springs-Fingerville, SC "Engine 4" 2009 Spartan Furion/Toyne 1250/1250 S/N # TID-9428 Andrew Messer Photo Andrew Messer Photos - Andrew2340 - 05-18-2014 They ended up with this truck due to a very prominent figure in their county government wrecking in their community years ago, and having to wait on extrication tools from several districts over. This official made sure that Cooley Springs-Fingerville received this rescue truck to provide extrication services to their district. I got to drive the 2007 Sterling from the Ladson SC ALF plant to the dealership I was working for at the time in Greenville SC. Without H2O she was fast. That unit was one of the last to come out of the Ladson plant before ALF moved up I-26 to Jedburg. Andrew Messer Photos - e290l103 - 05-19-2014 Quote:And it never hurts to re-shoot an old favorite! Andrew Messer Photos - Andrew2340 - 05-21-2014 Neal, that's neat! They said the Sterling was their pride & joy down there. Guess they like it even more than the Spartan Furion engine. Mike, sorry I was meaning I didn't get the EEI S/N off the Blue Ridge truck. I've seen quite a few of those newer Centuries that ended up with 5-digit all number Reg. #'s. So it's valid to use CE or 1 as the prefix for those? Here are a couple more from that trip. Gaffney had made quite a few additions to their fleet since last time I'd been by there. This one served out of one of their two substations. A small ramp left little place to get a better pose than this. Macedonia FD also located in Cherokee County, SC had this truck for sale and Gaffney picked it up for a good deal. It has a twin that serves as Gaffney Engine 102. Kinda neat that Gaffney runs two sets of twin engines, both of which are used. Med 15 runs between 4500-6000 calls a year. I actually rode on this very truck in 2003/2004 when I was assigned to 15. Andrew Messer Photos - Juice - 05-22-2014 I'd like the Xecutor off of it! Andrew Messer Photos - jkumb - 05-22-2014 Andrew- Regarding the Blue Ridge ALF, there is no EEI s/n on it. It was apparently ordered from Atlas ( after the guys from Blue Ridge saw the ALF/ Atlas at Valley Hill) but completed/delivered by EEI shortly after they opened. GA Dave and I crawled all over that truck several times but never found anything but the ALF sticker. We got the story from one of the FF's there.
