Yeah, but you guys get it every year so you are as used to it as one can probably get, we get hot/humid weather too, but don't get weather this extreme very often!

Every year or not, its still hot and humid. And the body can only adjust or acclimate so much...
But I do feel for everyone experiencing the heat wave, its not easy in our line of work no matter what state your in...

It's been a while since the Ambulance designations have been brought up. I was wondering what the difference between the 40, 50 and 60 series ambulance or "Med" units are. I notice that Baltimore City currently runs with Med units 41 through 46, Med unit 51 and Med units 61 through 66. Where are they located and why are there six 40 series and six 60 series Med units but only one 50 series Med unit.
Are there still Paramedic Engines on the Baltimore city fire department. What Engines are the Paramedic Engines?

Firepost, the 40 and 60 series units are used as critical alert or ready reserve medics when the city is severely short on the 24 firstline medics. They are staffed by several specific engine or truck companies at the stations they are located throughout the city. And the 50 series are used as bariatric medics. Just recently there were four others added, 52, 53, 54, & 55.
