Empire State Oldies - matchot - 02-03-2009

Next up is this 1950 Chevrolet/Young engine carrying Young Serial # 50-75 from the Walworth,NY FD. The vehicle is still owned by the dept, and is used as a parade truck. When this vehicle was purchased new it was white in color, and was repainted to the red in the late 70's or early 80's.

Next up is this 1954 Ward LaFrance engine which served in frontline service at the Sodus Point, NY FD until 1999. It is still owned by the dept, and is used for parades and musters now.

Next up is this 1971 Pierce/Maxim Snorkel-Quint which formerly servbed the Wolcott, NY FD. The vehicle was purchased by Wolcott in 1992 from the Bay Villiage, Ohio FD, where it was in service from new until 1992. The vehicle has a 85' snorkel platform on it, and a 200 Gallon Tank, with a 1000 GPM Pump. It is no longer in service with the Wolcott, NY FD, and unknown where it is today.

Next up is this 19?? ALF Aerochief snorkel which formerly served the Webster,NY FD as Truck-100, and is currently serving at the Sodus Center, NY FD as AP-2.

Next up is this Ford C/ FMC engine which served the Red Creek, NY FD. Unknown if this rig is still in service with them or not.

Next up is this 1948 Diamond T/ Oren engine from the Ontario,NY FD. The vehicle carries Oren model# N46268, and serial# 12955.

Next up is this 1972 Mack R engine. The rig is still used in frontline service by the Geneseo,NY FD and was delivered to them on 1-4-72. The vehicle carries Chasis# 1049, and has a 1000 Gallon Tank, and a 1000 GPM Pump.

Last up for now is this 1930 Ford Model A Chemical truck which formerly served the Getzville, NY FD. The vehicle is still owned by them, and used for a parade vehicle. Hope you all enjoyed the pics, more to come as I dig them up in my picture archives.

My notes on this vehicle is it's a 1978 Ford C/ Sanford with a 1000 Gallon Tank, and a 1000 GPM Pump.

Judginge from the gold bow tie on the grill, low back bucket seats, and the hub caps, I would say it is a 75-78 model. Very hard to tell the years aprts on the chevy vans, they stayed the same for years.

Walworth's website no longer lists this vehicle as being in service

This is Red Creek's engine 33 and was their frontline engine until they purchased a truck in 2006 with a FEMA grant. I believe it is now their second due engine

1000 GPM FMC RAM pump, along with the Bean High Pressure pump. 750 GWT. Purchased from Hilltop fire equipment and sold to Glens Emergency Equipment, Lake Kentucky Kentucky. If anyone runs across this in their travels let me know. It replaced a 1965 GMC / FMC 750 GPM 500 GWT with high pressure (posted in the Beans section)

Williamson now only runs two pumpers E-12, E-35), this one was sold sometime at the end of summer 2008.

Sold in 2008. Replaced by the quint. I'll ask about where it went.
