Branford former Truck 1, a 1988 Sutphen 100' tower. This truck was used to take the group shot in the previous post.

Branford Engine 2, a 1997 Pierce Saber 1500/500 pumper. Engine 2 is the busiest volunteer engine company in Branford. Engine 4 runs a twin to this truck.

A night time shot of Branford Tac 6, a Ford/Reading forestry rig. Pine Orchard Company 6 was closed down prior to this truck being placed into service, and its members were consolidated into Indian Neck Fire Company 9, where this truck is housed. The transverse booster reel is a Branford trademark.

Recently, I came across these pics of the CT Firemens Convention held in Norwalk. There was no year given, I'm assuming it is somewhere around 1949-50 era. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated. I'm saying the 1949-50 time period because of this truck, a Maxim quad from Thomaston. According to Walt McCall's book 'American Fire Engines since 1900', it shows this rig as a 1949 model.

Another Maxim, this one from the Turn of River Fire Company in Stamford. Notice the lack of warning lights on the roof.

Noroton Heights Fire Company of Darien once ran this late 1930's - early 1940's Seagrave pumper. No doors on this classic!!!

Georgetown Fire Company in Redding ran this Seagrave pumper. As in all of these photos, notice how the gear is hanging off the trucks, boots, helmets and coats, something that has disappeared from the fire service.
