<img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Scott, wasn't the 92 Rosetree muster for Hahns, and the 93 featured Macks? Of course there were other types there. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fireman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Fireman' />

Concerning your PA. geography ?, Forward Twp. is in far SE Allegheny Co., along the Mon river. There is also a Oakdale in western Allegheny Co. Looks like a lot of Dave Bowen photos in your latest batch...

Quote:I'm just guessing that this is a PA rig. Bigass, camo military 6x6 tanker! Mattson Collection

I'll put money on it that this is from Fort Indiantown Gap, near Annville, PA... The WWII era barracks in the background gave it away.

How can anyone forget the Mack L Snorkle? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hail.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hail' />

55 foot snorkel boom. The unit was purchased used from the Paoli Fire Co & served as the Kimberton Fire Co.'s first Truck Company. The unit was equipped with a 250 gallon tank & 750 gpm 2-stage Hale Pump. The unit was sold to the Forest Lake Fire Co where it continues to serve as a front line fire unit.

Frank, where in PA (is it PA) and what county is Forest Lake? Thanks!

Frank,

Info on your shots:

Morton

1966 Hahn 78, Cincinnati canopy cab, 1000/750, diesel, model C-10-44, purchased used in 1976 from McKinley Fire Company (Montgomery County, PA). Sold in 01/02 to a collector in OH.

Kimberton

1956 International R-196/American, full cab, 500/1000, front-mount Barton American pump, sold by the Glen Culbert Company.

It was totally repainted before it was sold in 1987.

1951 Mack L-85/Snorkel, semi-cab, 750/250, 55' snorkel. This was purchased used in 1976 from the Paoli Fire Company (Chester County, PA). Paoli did the conversion in 1970. It was housed on 9/10/77. It was taken out of service in July of 1993 after 42 years of service and sold in early 1994 for $3,100 to Frank Copotosto of Newtown Square (Delaware County) who leased it to the Forest Lake Fire Company (Susquehanna County, PA) for a $1 a year. Frank’s son is a Asst. Chief there. Frank was not the highest bidder, but the company wanted to give it to a company, not a collector.

1995 Ford F-450 Super Duty chassis purchased separate, skid unit built and mounted by Desi Equipment in late 1996/early 1997, had problem with pump, not placed into service until late April. 900/240/15A, 5 KW generator, cost $140,000. The unique feature about this rig is that it is actually a mini rollback, and the skid unit comes off. In 2000, the company started construction of a second body for it, a salvage unit, with a used Stanley Steamer carpet vac as the main component. This will be used as a “Courtesy Box”, to be left at a fire scene to help the owners with cleanup. In the fall of 2006, the skid unit slipped off the rollback hinge and fell to the floor cracking the tank. Had to be replaced.

Lionville

1936 Reo/Hale, open cab, 500/250, ordered on 7/14/35 at a cost of $5,000, pump type ZL25, no. 7341C, Hale job no. 3509, delivered 11/18/36, housed 11/28/36. The company retained this as an antique.

1958 Diamond T model 563/West Point, full cab, 750/500. It was housed on 10/10/59. It was sold in 1987 to Harold Trego - a local contractor who sold it to the Eagles Peak Campground (Lebanon County, PA).

1948 Seagrave, semi-cab, 1250/200, model J-1000, reg. no. D-6425, painted 12/9/48. It was purchased used during the 1960's from company member Paul Thomas-aka Penna. Fire Equipment-Seagrave dealer, who had purchased it from Upper Darby #3 (Delaware County) in a trade. It was sold to a collector from NY.

1975 Ward LaFrance Ambassador, canopy cab, 1250/500, 50' rear-mounted Readi-Tower, 6V71 Detroit diesel, 5-speed manual transmission, 6 KW Onan diesel generator. Serial #80-1024. Purchased at a cost of $96,000 it was housed on 6/25/77. A Duplex glider kit canopy cab was installed by Ward'79 in 1/89, as was the ladder rebuilt, and a new water tank. Taken OOS in 03/03, and put up for sale. Sold in 04/03 to the City of Alexander (Saline County, AK) for $12,000 to become their first piece in a newly organized fire department.

Quote:Oakdale, PA (where?) had this 1977 Mack CF pumper. It had a 1000 gpm pump and a 500 gallon water tank.

As Doc S. stated, Oakdale is in SW Allegheny County, bordering South Fayette Township and North Fayette Township.

This engine was lost to the Hurricane Ivan floods of 2004. The FF's were unable to move it out of the station fast enough, it ended up under 10 feet of water inside the bay.

On a brighter note Oakdale just took delivery of a 2006/2007 Ford F-550/Summit rescue...
