Here is the PIA Crash Truck, "FOXTROT 1" not long after it was new. I had my photo taken with it as a kid and I think my head just reached the 'bumper turret" area...

Philadelphia PA

Air port Engine F12

1972 WLF airport Crash F-12

This was at the Intrenational Air port in South Philadelphia, I do not have a photo of it's twin that was located at the north Philadelphia location.

I use to visit this station as a child. I thought the giant truck was cool. I shot this photo in 1989.

Does anyone have the Spec Numbers for these two rigs? I believe this one is the newer of the two, based on the shop number. It was originally F2. F1 had a lower shop number, as I recall. I have three Spec Numbers delivered to Philly around this time, with an additional nine 1971 pumpers and seven 1972 pumpers, as well as the 1975 55' AWT accounted for. The Numbers I need to match up are 80-650, 80-676 and 80-703. I'm assuming that the two Statesman rigs are two of these numbers. Anyone know what the third Number went to?

I think there this was a Light Wagon done by Ward on a commercial chassis.... Might account for the 3rd...

That's a very uniqie rig due to the Command Tower platform on it, but it isn't the one I'm looking for. Spec Numbers in the 80 series were all fixed-cab customs.

Privately owned by Chris and Melissa Boos of Deptford, NJ. Purchased 2005 from Frank Fabian of Newtown Antique Fire Association. Frank got/bought(?) it from Bucks County Fire School with a completely sheared pump shaft. He repaired it and sold it to us in August 2005.

We have been making minor and cosmetic repairs and additions to it since. It is housed in a purpose built garage on our property. We have taken it to various PA, MD, and NJ musters. We are aligned most closely with Glasstown Antique Fire Brigade, though we are/have been members of Cafaa, Clafa, and Spaamfaa.

Unless there is some mechanical difficulty, she will be at Glasstown on August 19, 2012.

Our 19 month old twin boys call her "TRUCK!". <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

WLF delivered #80-206 and #80-207 to Washington Township, NJ in 1967. I believe both were 1000/1000. They were assigned to the Whitman Square and Hurfville Fire Companies. The cutout in the cab face was uncommon for WLF, but both of these rigs had it. The Whitman Square rig was later sold to North Montgomery County, TX. I think this is the former Hurfville rig.

Ward LaFrance Ultravision - fire51 - 08-10-2012

I think you are correct. i remember this unit. I was a Capt at Whitman Square.

A member of The Cradle of Liberty Antique Fire Apparatus Association flew to Texas last summer and drove the old Whitman Square Ward back home to New Jersey. This pumper was the first he had ever driven. He is in the process of cleaning it up a bit.

The Factoryville Ultravision in the color photo is not the same rig as the one in the black & white photo.  You show them both as 1967's.  The one in the b/w shot is #80-166, a 1967 1000/500.  I'm not sure about the one in the color shot.

Ward LaFrance Ultravision - theunknowncomic - 01-27-2013

they're both the same engine it was refurbed in the 80's the 2 wards the 54 and the 67 is owned by their former chief ned sherman of factoryville he also has a 1975 ward la france x-Lehman,pa and x- mt zion,pa.
