In 2008, Maple Ridge also added two engines which had the same specs as the last post, and were the basis for the 2009 purchase. These two engines were also built by Hub. Maple Ridge runs two engines out of their main station, hence the E 1-2 lettering.

This rescue was recently replaced by another Hub built truck which I've yet to photograph, but served Maple Ridge for over 25 years and still looks great. This is a 1986 Hub Mack MC that started out life as a yellow truck, but got rehabbed and repainted a few years ago. The extended front bumper has two stablizer jacks to be used if an "A" frame which is carried in the truck is deployed.

Anderson Engineering supplied several apparatus to Maple Ridge, including this 1996 Spartan Gladiator with 1750 GPM pump, 250 gallon water tank and 100" Smeal ladder tower.

This Anderson built rig is now used now as an interface apparatus and can tow one of several trailers equipped with forestry fire suppression equipment. Engine 2-2 is a 1992 GMC 4x4 with a 1050 GPM pump, 400 gallon water tank and 30 gallon foam tank.

Station 2 in Maple Ridge runs this 2000 Profire Ford F 550 squad with a 200 gallon water tank and a CAFS on board. The body of this squad was salvaged from a 20 + year old Pierce built truck, and was modified to suit this truck by Profire.

Engine 3-1 in Maple Ridge is this 1994 Superior E-1 Cyclone TC with 1250 GPM pump, 750 gallon water tank and 40 gallon foam tank.

Rescue 3 was built by in 2003 by ERS, a small local builder which was formed by several former Anderson Engineering employees and utilizes a Ford F-550 chassis.

Maple Ridge runs a tanker out of their #1 station. Tanker 1-5 was built in 1998 by Hub, and uses a FL 112 chassis, has a 1250 GPM pump and carries 2300 gallons of water.

In the late 1980's Maple Ridge had several Mack pumpers on their roster. Pumper 11 was this 1988 Hub Mack MR with 1250 GPM pump, 500 gallon water tank and two 5 gallon foam tanks.

Anderson Engineering also built 2 Mack MR chassised pumpers for Maple Ridge in 1989. One of these Macks are still in service as a reserve engine, while the twin was totaled in a roll over MVA in January of 2008. These engines were delivered with large hose reels off the rear, and to accomodate the reels, Anderson flared out the hose bed near the back. The reels were removed after several years and the pumper were reconfigured with flat hose beds. Pumper 1-2 is a 1989 Anderson Mack MR with 1250 GPM pump, 500 gallon water tank and two 5 gallon foam tanks.

Every time fellow firepics member BIG DAVE hits town, we try to get together and spend a day or two on Vancouver Island shooting trucks. Twenty minutes after disembarking the ferry on Vancouver Island you can drive through Central Saanich on your way to the capital, Victoria. Central Saanich has one station and we managed to shoot a few of their apparatus on one of these trips. The first out engine, # 83, is a 2005 Smeal Spartan Gladiator with a 1500 GPM pump, 700 gallon water tank and 30 gallon foam tank.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 02-15-2012

Unit # 88 in Central Saanich is a 2007 Hub built CAFS unit on a Ford F 550 with 250 GPM pump and 250 GWT.

Parts of Central Saanich have no hydrant service , so unit 84 operates as the pumper/tender here. This truck is a 2000 Superior FL112 with a 1050 GPM pump and a 2500 gallon water tank.

Central Saanich runs this 1987 Anderson Engineering built heavy rescue utilizing a Peterbilt 320 chassis.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 02-15-2012

Unit # 81 in Central Saanich is a 2004 Smeal Spartan Gladiator 75' rearmount aerial with a 1500 GPM pump, 300 gallon water tank and 30 gallon foam cell.

South of Central Saanich and west of Victoria on Vancouver Island is the great little community of Sooke. Again, Dave and I were fortunate one trip to find someone at the station who had the time to put some of the apparatus on the ramp for us to photograph. Engine # 201 is a 1999 Hub FL 80 with 1250/1000/10/10 specs.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 02-15-2012

Engine # 205 is located at a second station and is a 2003 ALF/Hub FL 80 with a 1250 GPM pump, 1000 gallons of water and 20 gallons of A foam.

Canada Eh? - Guest - 02-15-2012

Sooke runs this CAFS unit as C-206. This truck is a 2002 Freightliner built by General Body and Wholesale Fire Rescue and has 400 gallons of water and 20 gallons of foam.

The ladder company in Sooke uses this 2006 Rosenbauer C/S Spartan Diamond truck with a 1750 GPM pump, 400 gallon water tank, 40 gallon foam tank and 109' RK galvinized steel aerial.
