Empire State Oldies - matchot - 02-06-2009 And last up for tonight is this 1925 Sanford engine which formerly served the Pultneyville,NY FD and is still owned by them and seen in many summertime musters and parades. Hope you all have enjoyed this installment of pics, and there will be more to come. Empire State Oldies - Guest - 02-06-2009
Tim, any big plans for your dept's 100th? Parade, or Field days or anything like that? Is your dept coming out with a 100th anniversary history book? Please let me know, as if you're going to have a parade, I will try to come out for it. And if your dept comes out with a history book I'd be interested in one, as i collect them. Thanks. Jeff Ambroz-Rochester,NY
http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/index....showtopic=12334 Yes Jeff a Parade is in the works. We are doing a supplement to our 75th bock that will include a complete written history of all our eqeuipment that I just finished writing. I lam looking forward to it my self. BTW, keep your shots coming Tim Empire State Oldies - John Kenealy - 02-06-2009
Next up is this 19?? Seagrave Ladder Truck which formerly served the St. Johnsville,NY FD. The vehicle was designated as Ladder-7, and also had the numbering system of 220 on it.
This is also Ex-Gloversville NY. In service at Central Square (Oswego Co) from 1969 to 2004. It was rehabed in the early 80's by Salisbury and renumbered 542. Unknown photographer Tim/csff25 Empire State Oldies - Guest - 02-06-2009 Same truck, now serviving Midway Tenn. Andrew 2340 photo. Tim/csff25 Empire State Oldies - Guest - 02-06-2009 Both Central Square's and Oswego County's first tanker. A 1939 Ford/Local 1200 gal of water. This truck was hated from the moment it went into service (1950 to 1953). My opinion is that is wasn't enough chassis for the 1200 gal water tank. A 47 Chevy replaced it in 1953. The truck, or at least parts of it still lives today in a neat little street rod. A local man ended up with it and used the cab and some of the sheet metal for his street rod, still painted red. I have a picture of it some where. Fuller Photo Empire State Oldies - paganores10cue - 02-06-2009 The North Side Ford is not a Young, I'm not sure what it is but it is not a Young. Empire State Oldies - Guest - 02-06-2009 The same Ford tanker along with our 46 Dodge Sanford, in front of our old station. Sorry its not a better shot.Fuller Photo Tim/csff25 Empire State Oldies - Guest - 02-06-2009 Here is Central Square's 46 Dodge/Sanford at a fire in the City of Fulton. Credit to unknown photographer. Empire State Oldies - Guest - 02-06-2009 The last for now. Central Square's first engine. A 1927 Selden/Buffalo. It was in service with us from 1927 until 1948. It was then sold to the Cato Department and was in service at least till 1959. It sat for years in a little junk yard in Cicero NY, buried with junk. I been told what was left of it was scraped last summer when the junkyard got cleaned out. I guess there wasn't much left to the old girl. Looks like a Sanford to me based on the rear fenders and the way diamond plate over the compartments is welded. Larry Empire State Oldies - matchot - 02-08-2009 Found some more pics in my archives, so here we go. first up is this 1929 ALF Engine which served the Penfield,NY FD, and is still owned by them and used for parades and musters. |
