She is indeed. I had the chance to see it all lit up this morning on 405, about 5am; All red LEDs all the way around (except ambers to the rear) and LED comparment lighting.

Ladder 14 moved downtown to Station 11 on 1/1/11. Station 14 is back to having an engine. The reserve ladder is still kept at 14, though.

The new Ladder 12 was spotted out about town last Saturday performing road tests. Here speeding away from the back ramp at Station 18.

Notice all the dings covered with painter's tape. Ladder 12 had a rough trip from Appleton, having to get a side window and the bumper replaced. She may not go into service until after January 1st.

Last Saturday the Last Resort Fire Department had to move Apparatus #131, a 1931 Seagrave 100 foot TDA, from the museum (former Station10), to the Ballard shop for routine tire replacement activity. Taking it's place in the museum is Apparatus 316, a 1969 KW-Maxim 100 foot TDA. Both rigs served as Ladder 1 while they were in active service and ran out of the former Station 10. It's the first time since the early to mid 1990's that 316 returned to her previously assigned bay. The last time was when she was a used as a spare.

Found this while poking around some of my photos and thought I would post it. This pumper is ex Cincinnati Ohio E-9 and is a 1928 Aherens Fox 750 GPM pumper, now owned by a collector in Mount Vernon Wa.

Has anyone got a chance to shoot Seattle's new MCI bus yet? I saw it on I-40 leaving Sartin Services in NC about 2 weeks ago. Very sharp looking graphics!

Thanks for the info. I was wondering when the MAB would finally arrive. It's not in service yet and is currently pretty much isolated out at the Joint Training Facility for driver training.

Found a few slides from 20+ years ago from a short visit to Lynden, Washington. When we stopped by, their newest engine was E-2051, a 1998 Pierce Saber with 1500 pump and 750 gallon water tank.

The reserve engine was E-2071, a 1970 Western States GMC with 1000 GPM pump and 750 Gallon water tank.

The department ran An ALF Century 2000 engine as their first out engine until the Pierce arrived. E-2061 was this 1991 ALF with 1500 GPM pump, 750 gallon water tank and 40 gallon foam tank.

The ladder company on our visit many years ago was another ALF. This is a 1981 ALF with 1500 GPM pump, 500 gallon water tank and 75' ladder.

I was going through stacks of old photos the other day, and came across this gem from July of 1993, taken with my trusty little Nikon EM.



Seattle reserve (Apparatus #319) running as Engine 34 (x-Engine 27, x-Engine 5, x-Engine 31) - 1969 Kenworth/Heiser 1750/400 w/Fireboss Foam system. Shown at Seattle Station 5 on Alaskan Way.



Now owned by the Last Resort Fire Department. Thanks to TransverseRoad for the details on this rig.



I'm sorry that I didn't take any other photos, but a roll of film just didn't go very far.

Per Retired Seattle Fire Department Captain and now SFD Historian Rich Schneider, this was a 1970 Kenworth/Heiser 1750/475 (Reg #112471) that was originally assigned to Engine 19, then to Engine 32 before being assigned to Engine 34 from 1980 to 1996. It was Seattle Apparatus #320. Rich's records also state that it got a new prefabricated crew cab installed in 1988.

Thanks Steve (and Rich) - I'll make a note of it. I didn't realize it was that old. I figured it was maybe a '77 or so. 26 years front line, that's really something...
