Ward LaFrance Ultravision - Guest - 02-12-2015 I presume you already have this info, if not, here is the info on the two WLF aerial/elevating platform rigs used by the Newark, NJ FD. This is from the excellent historical file created by Hank Przybylowicz. I have pics of all the WLF Newark rigs but they are not mine to post. <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;color:rgb(5,61,245);"><b>1965</b> <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;color:rgb(5,61,245);"><b>WARD LAFRANCE / HI-RANGER</b> <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;">Reg. 37 - Snorkel - 85’ Articulated Boom (Serial #IO80S) - Cost $58,000 <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;">07/26/1965 - Assigned to Truck 1 <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;">1982 - Junked <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;"> <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;"> <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;">1966 <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;color:rgb(5,61,245);"><b>WARD LAFRANCE / THIBAULT</b> <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;">Reg. 39 - Aerial Truck - 100’ Metal Tillered (Serial #80-107) - Cost $45,884 <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;">08/00/1966 - Assigned to Truck 9 <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;">Reassigned to Truck 6 <p style="text-align:justify;font-size:11px;font-family:Arial;">1980- Junked Ward LaFrance Ultravision - Guest - 02-12-2015 Here are the records for the 1973 WLF Ambassador pumpers used by the Newark, NJ FD. pumpdriver7 - 06-28-2020 (05-11-2011, 07:19 PM)Frank B My father was the salesman on the Brookfield rig. Only one custom of that configuration was ever built. The truck had two different towers on it in its lifetime. The first as I recall was an open lattace type. The second was a solid boom built by Reading Techmatic. Louisville OH had a similar rig built on a Ford C-9000. Theirs had only the Reading Techmatic boom. Louisvilles rig was sold by Ashley Gunn in Perrysburg OH. The cab on Brookfield was actually built on a pattern used for the Statesman series crash trucks.
