Boston Fire Department - yelrowekim - 01-11-2010

Just was looking at some pictures of E 21 (shop #147).... the one I posted above has the same stickers in the windows... so I think it's the same truck..with new paint and "Awesome" lettering...

Has Boston Fire gone away from the gold stripes that boarder the white band?

Mike, you are right, that is definitely not the old E 10. I was focusing on the Maaco paint job and not the roof.

Engine 21 either got a paint job & had there stripping and lettering re done or this is a spare..

Is it an optical illusion or is that striping as straight as a party in Provincetown?

Mike, great photos. Very cool

Here is a link to Boston's new Ladder 6. I believe there is another truck coming with it that is going to Ladder 24.

Picture taken down on Moon Island at the Boston Fire Department Academy. Truck is down at HQ at will be going into service soon. Ladder 24 should also be delivered soon, if it isn't here already.

Skip,

Any idea why they went with the long cab? It would seem theyd like to stay with the short cab....especially in their district. Nice truck though.

Boston Fire Department - yelrowekim - 01-28-2010

Ladder 6 swung by 40 Quincy Ave and backed in to see what there was for clearance before it was delivered the other day by the dealer.... there was 3"......

Boston Fire Department - maxim - 01-29-2010

What is 40 Quincy Ave?

A very narrow street. If the truck can get into there, it should not have problems elsewhere.

Boston Fire Department - KDWMAEMT - 01-30-2010

Actually, 40 Quincy Ave is the address for Quincy MA Fire Headquarters. Im assuming Mike is refering to them sizing the apparatus out in their station for a possible future purchase. Thats what the 3 inches of clearance is refering to.

Boston Fire Department - yelrowekim - 01-30-2010

Sorry about that... what he said..

New paint doesn't hide the fact that it is a 23 year old POS. But is it better than driving around in a brush truck?
