Minnesota Apparatus - grubber33270 - 02-18-2012 New Minneapolis Engine 11: Just put in service 2 Days ago Same specs as Engine 4, 8, 14. Minnesota Apparatus - firesafe91 - 02-19-2012
Minneapolis District Chief 4, Stationed with Engine 2.
It looks like you made it down to the playground fire at Jordan Park Elementary. I heard the dispatch and saw the smoke from I35W and University. I took a couple of rig shots and got some shots of E14's crew reloading hose. I also saw one of the 2004 Rosenbauer engines without a company number. I am assuming that it was running as either E20 or E2 (can't remember which company was dispatched on the box alarm). Minnesota Apparatus - grubber33270 - 02-19-2012 Hey Scott, the 2004 Rosenbauer Was Engine 20. Engine 11 is running there new engine. Yeah When we were leaving station 28 we could see the thick smoke thats when i may have done a little speeding (if there are any cops here you dont see this) but yeah we stopped for a few photos and talked with chief 4 for a while. it seemed like a good fire when they got onscene. I wish I would of been at the museum when it came out.
Nice. I am just loving all of these short wheelbase engines that are being put into service around here, they make so much sense! Now, if we could get a few tiller quints in service here in the North Country, we would have fire apparatus heaven... Minnesota Apparatus - Guest - 02-19-2012 How do the fellas in Minneapolis like the conventional cab pumpers? They look like they are well put-together...any issues with cab room? Minnesota Apparatus - drfeelgood - 02-19-2012 Notice something about the front hub are these pumpers all wheel drive? Minnesota Apparatus - grubber33270 - 02-19-2012 The guys in Minneapolis seem to love these engines so far, They are quick, they can fit down alleys, very easy to manuvor. I have not talked to anyone yet that doesnt like them. as far as all wheel drive I dont know.
Love the low hose bed that is great to see. Not much of a commercial cab person, however I do understand the width problems and potential wheel base length with the new custom cabs. This can be especially difficult in congested urban areas. Nice looking ride. Minnesota Apparatus - Juice - 02-20-2012 Love those Eagan engines. Not a huge fan of the Black wheels, wish they were aluminum, and would like to see a Q siren on them, however they look like VERY well thought out rigs. The above is just my personal opinion, I'd still drive either as is <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' /> Trav! It's been 70 or more seven of the last ten days. In the last couple of days I've been to a couple fires (both a little late) and out visiting a few stations with fire buff Kyle Gustafson from Lincoln, Nebraska. The first fire I got to was yesterday morning. Minneapolis Engine 27 was the first to arrive on a house with a well-involved basement fire.
