Quote:Ok, in order to correct the distorted photos that I posted earlier, I re-scanned them. I'll post them below. But first, I found this one and re-scanned it too. It wasn't posted earlier. It is a former Westbrook Fire Protection, Dundalk, MD 1964 Ward LaFrance Pumper known as Engine 642. I don't know the other specifics.

This is 85-08, a 1964 Mark I 1000/300 delivered to Kenmore, NY. When retired by Kenmore, it was sold to a collector in the Baltimore area named Westbrook.

Thanks for the info Dave.
Unlike the rest of the rigs posted so far, this one is a Model 85. Note the lack of an engine compartment behind the cab. The engine was located between the driver and officer seats. This is #85-47, delivered on 5-8-73. My list also shows two Model 80's delivered to Freeport. #80-640 was delivered on 8-16-72, #80-713 was delivered on 4/27/73. I have no info on either of these except that I know Freeport had a Model 80 with a Hi-Ranger platform. Anyone know more?
The only other WLFs of this style that Freeport had were the Hi-Ranger and a pumper for Hose 4, so it would be these two rigs. I have them both as 1972 models. Here is the Hi-Ranger....

And here is Hose 4's former pumper.
This rig must no longer be in service. Last week I found it sitting in a yard with a few other engines and random trucks in Bay Shore, LI. It was mostly intact and still had all of its markings. I'm hoping to get a chance to get some pics of the rigs soon.
It was replaced by a 1998 Spartan/RD Murray, and for quite some time sat outside behind Hose 5's firehouse.

Ward LaFrance Ultravision - GA_Dave - 07-11-2006

Thanks, George. Now all I have to do is figure out which one is which!

Ward LaFrance Ultravision - Guest - 07-11-2006

Mobile AL T-24

Ward LaFrance Ultravision - Guest - 07-11-2006

Mobile AL E-9

Ward LaFrance Ultravision - Guest - 07-11-2006

Sadly, both of these plus T-5 (the other WLF Hi-Ranger) are long gone

T-24 & T-5 were 75' 250/150 I believe. E-9 was 1000/500.

Dave,

I believe you know how I feel about this topic <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wub' /> . I'm sure you knew that I just had to thank you for starting this thread. But now I'm wondering if my question about the P85 spark the idea for the thread?

Does anyone have any WLF's from California (LAFD LACo) ???

Ward LaFrance Ultravision - Guest - 07-11-2006

Well yes I do but they're not the photos that I took myself but what I have run across the years of collecting. I'll post some when I get caught up.
