FDIC 2014 - Juice - 04-17-2014

Just for fun, some FDIC attendees were treated to a good old fashioned Indianapolis 3 alarm not far from downtown (3 alarms don't happen often, and last year when this building caught on fire it was a 4 alarm) I got very few photos, but here are a few I snapped with my phone.

The header as we approached

Engine 7, a 2005 Pierce Arrow XT and Ladder 27, a 2010 Pierce Arrow XT

Tactical 29, a 2004 Ferrara Inferno

Reserve Engine 104, I thought I saw 13s with it earlier in the day, but no real idea who had it, a 1995 Pierce Lance and Beech Grove Medic 57, a 2012 Ford E-450/Road Rescue

But how do you know, it doesn't say FDNY? Stirpot

Shaking my head at the FDNY logo's covered up......REALLY?????  Like one can't tell who's rig it is when it's driving on the expressway being delivered.  Is it supposed to be that big of a secret to where it's going?

Hastings, what state ?

FDIC 2014 - Juice - 04-17-2014

Minnesota; appears to be replacing a 1976 Hendrickson/General Mfg.

In regards to the FDNY logos being covered up, I was told it has to do with the Copyright (or Trademark maybe) infringement. Anyone who knows how to use Google can get a FDNY logo for personal use, I really don't understand how exposing it on the side of a truck is any different. Just to be funny... :o

Trav,

I'm happy you understood my point.  It just seems a little crazy to me.

A Seagrave add on, with the all too common free advertisement for any company who brought a FDNY rig. FDNY had 5 trucks among 4 manufacturers at FDIC; Seagrave Engine, KME Engine, Ferrara Ladder, Ferrara Haz Mat Mitigation Unit, Wheeled Coach Ambulance

Ok, while I love the pics being shown here, something caught my eye in the background of the Seagrave engine pictured here. To my knowledge, this would be the debut show of Seagrave's Apollo II rearmount tower ladder. First one was going to Bridgeton, NJ which, if my eyes arent decieving me, is what that sign board says....not to mention the giant Apollo II banner hanging from the bucket. TELL ME one of you has a photo?

FDIC 2014 - jbang45 - 04-17-2014

KDWMAEMT, I'm very surprised it hasn't been shown yet too?

FDIC 2014 - nealcraig - 04-17-2014

So FDNY has went back to Ford from Ram on the ambulances?

FDIC 2014 - Juice - 04-17-2014

I looked it over, however I did not get a shot, because the Seagrave booth was pretty packed the most of the time I was there, the FDNY Seagrave (although this makes the 3rd or 4th year of shooting essentially the same rig) photo came as a result of me waiting patiently until almost no one was still in the convention center.

There's pics of it on their FB page https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152008671820079&set=pcb.10152008673555079&type=1&theater

FDIC 2014 - Roto-Ray - 04-17-2014

Yes, that's the Apollo II for Bridgeton, NJ.  I tried for three days to get a pic of it, and it just wasn't happening unfortunately.

Trav, thanks for the additional photos in the thread.  I have some more to add once the kiddo goes to bed this evening...

FDIC 2014 - npfd801 - 04-17-2014

The wood treatment in all of the compartments on the Seagrave tower was amazing.  I'd be very curious what that option alone cost.

Extreme RAT from HME, I really can't see usefulness of this truck beyond shows, so who knows where this will ever end up when they're done with it

The HME is a Demo it's actually red with a white top thats a black wrap that they put on it for the show. If you were refering to the color of it

Fire trucks have really got ugly over the years. Bring back the 70's.

FDIC 2014 - photog999 - 04-20-2014

Taylor, if you are on Facebook I am in the process of posting most all convention center rigs on the Fire Apparatus Photographer page there. I managed to get some halfway decent shots as they were pulling out of the building. Some of the drivers would see us with camera's and stop but most of them were in hurry to get on the road.

Do you have a link?

Dennis, I've seen the shots you've put on FB, they look great.  Thanks for the contributions.

Quote:As you'd expect, this beautiful Pierce Impel PUC was getting a lot of attention.  Bound for Cinnaminson, NJ, it's 1500/750/50 rig with a 450HP Cummins.

It is supposed to be delivered this week. Its brother was delivered this past Thursday.
